I only spent $15 on my current bag because none in the $5 sale were suitable.

Now that is more my style of purse shopping!  I tend to buy one I like and use it till it falls apart and forces me to buy another!

My cousin is into Coach bags.  Which is fine on her husband's salary and she works also.  For me; I'm not impressed.  I can find just as cute a purse for a fraction of the price.  I don't care for buying names.  Now spending a little more for quality on some things; sure.  But not so I can say "I have a _____ handbag!"  I think my current purse came from Target.  It's about a year old and still going strong.

But is it autographed by one of the Swamp People cast????LOL

That is something I would not buy even at 99 cents.......too big and unwieldy. I am happy with my glorified wallet with a carry strap. The price on that handbag just proves there is a sucker born every minute and it's amazing what people will pay for a label.

As long as people are stupid enough to pay for a name, there will always be a market for outrageously expensive items.

:yeah: It looks like one of the ones you find in a discount bin for $5.

I can see paying $100 or so for one you really like and are going to use every day, but that price is just plain silly. If you're into really expensive bags, you can buy one from last season or a "second" from the factory outlet and save yourself hundreds (or thousands in this case).

The most I've ever spent on a handbag is $120 plus taxes.  In fact I did it a total of 3 times.  They are by designer, Kathy Van Zealand  http://www.kathyvanzeeland.com/

However, all of my purses are typically $40 or less.   The last 6 that I purchased in the last year or so *yes, I told you I love purses! LOL) were either $15 or $25.  The $25 one is a cross body which I really like. The leather is buttery soft.  I got in May at Target, when I was in Grand Forks.

Another designer I like just based on the pictures I've seen of the handbags and wallets is Brahim http://www.brahmin.com/    But I'd never spend that amount of money on a single purse.

My most favourite purse is about 30 years old.  I think I paid around $25 which was quite a bit back then.  It is very high quality. Black, double layer of real leather and suede. One of the loops where a handle ring fits is worn, but other than that it is in perfect condition. I would continue to use it but it is so heavy. Because of the double leather and suede and a large metal ring on the buckle, it is heavier empty than any of my other purses are when they are full.

Ok, it took me a minute to wonder why they had an alligator named Ricky that they slaughtered, and made into a purse...
  (Poor "Ricky!", LOL!)

Then, I remembered my wildly-expensive designer purse that I'm using right now.  I paid an outrageous $6.95 for it at Goodwill. (Italics not intentional. Can't get 'em to work , now they won't turn off!)

I didn't think they had alligators in Africa only crocodiles?  I admit I do have a Coach purse.  I have had it for several years and it's the only splurge I have on a purse.  Coach's purse are no where nearly as expensive as this one.

When you are through with the italics, bold or underline, just click the mouse and they will quit. You can even do it within a word. Don't feel alone, it took me several tries to figure it out.

I am still using the "Cat Mommy" purse quilted bag thing my hubby got custom made for me for my birthday last year.

I don't even carry a purse, so the most I'll spend on a handbag is $0 :lol3:. That is insane. I'm planning on getting a brand-new Subaru Forester that will cost about that amount. . .

That's crazy. The most I've ever spent on a purse is $50 and that was a LOT to me. I usually just wait until my mom or sister buy me a new one because they do either for my birthday or Christmas pretty much every year.

This is what I am currently carrying instead of a purse. I just throw my wallet and few things I need into my diaper bag.

Yeah, that is crazy. Even if I were rich enough to easily afford a $22,500 handbag, I would feel really guilty about spending that much on a stupid purse! I'd probably get a REALLY nice one for $500 or so, then give the other $22K to the SPCA... that would do SO much more good than a purse ever could.

I don't carry a purse, of course, but I bought a new wallet several months ago. I think I paid $5 for it. My old one was more of an open-ended folder when I retired it. I am one to talk about expensive things, when my dream purchase is a $75,000,000 personal luxury submarine.

I do have two Coach purses I bought in the outlet store. But they gave coupons and were on sale. I paid about a hundred for each one. To me that is a fortune. They are both purses I only carry for church or special occasions. I love the Coaches, but I generally buy them on Ebay for less than fifty bucks. If I was going to spend 22,500, I would want something different to drive.

Oh theres nothing wrong with having an expensive purse if that's what you like and you can afford it.
I just can't see spending big bucks for things like that.  I'd rather get a few pedicures; which is something else I don't do.

No man bag?!
Don't worry; my husband used to hate carrying the diaper bag even if he was carrying the baby at the same time!

Now I've got to go dig out that episode of Friends where Joey carries a man bag.
