Oh I do cuddle all of them.
But I cuddle her less than I used to because she doesn't let me. That's all. Today she tried to attack one of the kittens and then she attacked me.

She later on pretended it never hapenned but well....I still love her the same

Hey guys

No big updates. All the same.
Tomorrow we have a vet appointment at 2.30, will let you know how that goes.

I think we will keep the ecollar a couole of weeks even after removing the stitches so that she doesnt do smth crazy with the wound

What do you think?

If the wound is still tender after removing the stitches, I think leaving the e-collar on a little longer may help (given her behavioral history). Be sure to check her neck area where the e-collar might be rubbing. Having it on for so long can make the skin sore. How is her demeanor?

Well I am worried about her neck because she has furr balls there and jer akin is not breathing well... so thats what I will ask the vet to check.

She is still the same. Hissing and growiling at the kottens and at me qhen she sees me with them... sleeping and eating and sitting with us in the living room sometimes but not for long.

I'd leave it on a bit longer but can't you stitch something soft round the neck to make it more comfortable.

Hmm...perhaps ask your vet about a soft collar? A soft collar is more comfortable and it deters them from "roaming," but they CAN find ways around it because it is more flexible.

Glad to hear she's still eating and hanging out with you. I worry about depression in Lucy.

Ok voila.
We just came back from the vet who took off the stitches. The would looks horrible now!!! It is a bit open on the surface now. I will need to sanitise it for 10 days and apply an antibacterial creme.

He didn't have anything new to tell me. He said he needs to see her in 10 days and he will inform me of the plan; we need to observe her to see if the nodule will come back.

Well, it sounds like she's doing okay if she sits with you and is still eating. Depressed cats will retreat away and not want to be a part of anything, and may even stop eating. I'm sure she'll perk up when her back is healed and that darn e-collar is off!

I'm sorry to hear the wound looks horrible. Did the vet say it's supposed to look like that? And that it's not infected? I guess because it's still so raw that'll you'll have to keep the collar on her. How's her neck?

He said I did not do a good job with cleaning the wound. I hope I do it better this time.

Her neck is ok. Collar will stay on another 10 days minimum. He asked me to keep drying it.

I'm sure you already do this, but make sure you wash your hands EVERY time just before touching the wound to clean it. Our hands carry tons of bacteria and dirt.

I don't understand, did he expect you to clean where the stitches are? while she had stitches? Oh ok, I see, you were supposed to change pads while she had stitches.

What about getting one of those tube bandages? Are you supposed to leave the wound open now, to heal? If you still need to bandage it after putting antibiotic cream on it, I would suggest putting the bandage underneath the tube bandage.

I would have a talk with the vet about all this, asking what can be done when the cat is difficult in this way. Personally I would see about whether you can just put her in the bandage (the picture I showed you with the cat in the tube sock and legs cut out along with a soft e-collar.

You would have to keep putting her in a new tube bandage each time you applied more cream but that might work. Ask the vet. You can download the picture of my cat from this thread and take it in and ask them(?)

we removed the bandage on the first checkup after operation. So no bandage.
He removed the stitches and they were not clean enough so he told me I should have been cleaning the wound (stitches on) better.

And now I am supposed to clean and apply cream everyday and leave it open.

I think I need to calm myself first before approaching her. The wound now looks really stomach crumbling.

I have to do what I have to do. It seems I ddnt do enough...I think the way I cleaned the wound is the problem. I dont have the heart to rub the wound the way he does.

here in lebanon we are very low on sophisticated supplies... we don't have many options for bandages and collars and so on...

by the way... today I put Saffron tea bag in Lucy's carrier wheb I took her. She was calmer than the usual. I dont think thats proof it actually worked, but maybe a hint? Has anybody tried it?
Saffron is a natural calmant for humans.

So that's the result of putting the antibacterial creme on Lucy's wound today!  Another one on my leg as well.

This girl is getting more aggressive by the day!

Oh dear. A nasty scratch. You have to take care of that too so it doesn't get infected. Don't forget those claws have been in the litter box.
If the wound is still open should he have taken the stitched out? If I had to do what you have to do I would either be going to the vet daily or she'd come to me. When I see anything woundy like I get a horrible feeling in my knees. No laughter please. It's strange because I had no problem with this sort of thing as a young girl. I remember when I was about 15/16 a few of us went to support our football team. Somebody from the other side was wearing studs which was a no-no. He kicked one of the boys and he had to be taken to hospital. Ambulance came. I went with. A car followed to see where we were and I stayed with him while they were cleaning, sewing etc. Didn't bother me then. I tell a lot of stories that have no relevance don't I? Sorry.
Anycase I don't really think much of your vet's bedside manner. Have you ever tried giving her 'rescue'? It's drops made by Dr. Bach out of petals picked when they have dew on them. Well actually they're not made by him anymore. He's long gone but it's still being produced. Rescue is supposed to relax you. I used to give it to my dog when I went to work. He hated being left although he wasn't really alone. My lotto was his best friend and he was at home. The dog used by hide under my bed until I got home. Took him sometime to get out. He was too big to go there. Anyway I don't know if it helped as I went to work straight after I gave it to him. Bach makes all sorts of herbal remedies for all sorts of ailments. Physical and mental. Worth checking it out. All of you.
Other countries make the same sorts of things but I like Bach ss it's English.
Can you not clean and cream it from behind? Just a thought. Hugs.

Hey stewball.
Tha ks for the the input. We don't have Bach available here.
today I quickly cleaned her wound. Not a great job but better than nothing. As for the cremw, my brother put it for her. For some reason she lets him do it... so that's good. I hope I can get him to do that everyday.
I think she knows im stressed about her wound and she takes advantage. As my brother shows no sign of stress she doesn't resist him as much. She knows he will be tough on her

Besides that, today she approached me for a cuddle and purred! It has been so long!
