I realize I may be hard to shop for and for that I apologize. Some things to know about me that  help summarize and might give you some ideas:

1. My husband and I run a home daycare which basically consumes our life right now. I would not trade it for the world, but because of the sacrifice I have given and wanting to avoid a daycare center at all costs, we have gone with the home route. Therefore, our home is all about the kids. Our entire living room/dining room is dedicated to them with various activity centers, toys, and eclectic kid colors and furniture.

2. I am a very strong Christian who is highly involved in my Church, I teach pre-school there and it is family. I mention this because that makes me very particular about books, music, and movies,we are highly screening and selective about what media comes into our house. I even have specific Christian authors I read and some I avoid and consider target practice.

3. I love my cat. He is our world, and has been kind of brushed aside the last few months for the kids we keep. Understandable as this is, he could use something to make him feel extra special (though not sure what that would be!)

4. Finally, I have horrible Asthma and have been down for several weeks with bronchial pneumonia, so I am not 'myself" the last couple of weeks, and because of the extreme asthma certain scents etc have to be avoided, just wanted to clarify... Thanks everyone

Do you have any food allergies, like nuts? Kiwi and Avocado.  DD is mildly allergic to peanuts.  We still keep them around; I just keep them out of reach.

Kitchen   Dark purple and tan with some darker sage green accents and ivory accents.  And copper!
Living area Sage and tan with chocolate and ivory accents
Bathrooms Master bath has purple roses on a french gray shower curtain. Other bath has tan with chocolate and turquoise/aqua accents.
bedrooms Master is a muted blue/bluegreen with tan.  DD's is raspberry pink and chocolate brown. DS is green, blue, tan and orange.

What are your hobbies?!  Anything crafty!  I'll paint on occasion.  I love taking pictures and baking.  I just don't have time for these things like I'd like.
Do you enjoy puzzles like crosswords, sudoku, wordsearches? Yes; but sudoku is not my friend!  I tried!  Word puzzles of any sort suit me better.

PETS

How many animals do you have? What kind (cats, dogs, etc!) Tell us a little about their favorite toys/treats!  Mooch and Noodles only.  They only eat fish flavored treats that are either soft or fish flakes.  Mooch loves milk rings and mice.  Noodles loves crinkle/mylar balls and some mice.  Both love catnip!
Does your pet (s) have any allergies to certain foods/treats that should be avoided?  Nope
Are there any kind of cat toys that should be avoided? (i.e. feathers, string, noisy toys that scare kitty...)  Noodles will eat string and mooch will eat the tails off her mice.  I just remove the tails and keep anything on a string for supervised play time.  Noodles goes nuts for that sort of toy.  Feathers get supervised too!
 Do your kitties wear collars? If so what kind?  Both wear safety collars from Safe Cat.
What kind(s) of brush or comb do you have for your cats and/or dogs?  We mostly use the Furminator on them.  Neither really love to be brushed.
Do your cats like catnip, valerian, or honeysuckle?  They like catnip.  We've never tried anything else.

What are your favorite types of food? ALLERGY ALERT: I recently found out that I have a severe Gluten allergy (Celiac Disease), so anything foodie-wise needs to be Gluten Free, which thankfully, there are tons of options to chose from now, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal! (There are some great websites online that explaine what's safe/what isn't. I'm honestly not picky at all) !

Favorite types of chocolate? Dark CHOCOLATE!!! (Especially Lindt, Green n' Brown, and Gharadelli. I also love milk or white chocolate too and the dark chocolate bars that have strawberry or raspberry in them and milk or dark chocolate covered cherries- my favorite!). I'm really not that picky; I've recently developed a love for dark chocolate, but I like them all. Any candy needs to be Gluten-Free. I really love the Green n Brown "Endangered Species Dark Chocolate Bar Blueberry" (It's pretty much just dark chocolate covered blueberries! I love any kind of chocolate covered fruits!)

Do you like tea, coffee, or hot chocolate? I love ALL of it! I'm not picky. (Any mixes need to be GF, but thankfully most are!)

Do you like flavored coffee or tea? Absolutely! My fav. flavored teas are fruity ones or Indian Chai, as far as coffee and hot chocolates go, I will l try anything!

Sweet or salty snacks? If so, what are your favorites? Both! My favorite salty snacks are the Van's Gluten Free "Say Cheese" crackers. I LOVE them!! I also love saltwater taffy, pop-corns, kettle chips, caramel apple candy pops,cashew crunch, dark chocolate covered cherries, strawberry/ cherry licorice, "tutti fruitti" jelly belly's, SKOR chocolate bars, sour patch kids....just about any kind of candy!

Do you have any food allergies, like nuts? Yes! I have a severe allergy to Gluten. Anything included food/drink wise needs to be Gluten-Free, please. (Thank you for taking the time to check!) I also can't have anything with grapefruit. Other than that, I dislike the taste of black licorice and mushrooms.

Would you eat homemade cookies sent by a person you only know via the internet? Since I have a gluten allergy, it'd be best to stick with packaged foods prepared in a GF facility (I LOVE Ian's Chocolate Chip Cookie Buttons!), but if someone knows how to make delicious things GF foods and doesn't mind, I would LOVE that!

What are your favorite kinds of cookies, esp. holiday cookies? Ian's Chocolate Chip Cookie Buttons are delicious! I'm not cookie picky at all though! It just needs to be Gluten-Free. I enjoy Sugar cookies or pumpkin cookies, Ranger cookies, Gingerbread, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate chip, White chocolate macadamian nut,... i'm not picky!

Are there any ingredients that should be avoided (i.e. something you hate or are allergic to)? Yes, anything with Gluten (Barley, Rye, Wheat, Oats, etc). Also, anything with grapefruit, or fragrances that smells like fresh cut grass.

Do you like to cook and/or bake? All the time! I LOVE cooking/baking!! (I love trying out new recipes) I've especially been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately trying to learn how to cook Gluten Free! I'm also learning how to can the foods that I prepare!

Do you like cookbooks? If so, are there any in particular you would like? I would REALLY love some Gluten Free magazines or Cookbooks! (Personal recipes and used cookbooks are wonderful too!!)

Do you paint your nails? What tones? Yes! I keep mine painted and love polishes. I really like shades of pinks/reds/creams,chocolates, duochromes, dark colors, brights, neutrals! (I love anything by OPI, Zoya, China Glaze, Revlon, Wet n' Wild, Sinful Colors, Fingerpaints, or Essie, Indie Nail Polish companies from Etsy.... I'm not brand picky.) I LOVE polishes!

Do you prefer bath or shower products? Both! Love them equally!

What scents do you like best? (I like the same scents as I posted above for lotions). I really love Lush Cosmetics, Victorias Secret, & Bath & Body Works. I'm not that picky though; I've used some fantastic homemade products in the past as well!

Do you use hair ties, barrettes/hair-slides, etc.? I use ponytail holders, headbands (love the cute ones with flowers or rhinestones! I like the black/silver/brown ones), rhinestone barrettes, and spider clips.

What's your favorite perfume or body spray? Sensuous Noir- Estee Lauder, Innocent (Therry Mugler), Rice flower & Shea (bath and body works) and just about anything from Lush (especially anything that smells like "Snow Fairy")!

What is your favorite color? I love reds! (Most of my homes is decorated in reds, chocolates, coppers, and creams). I also like dark purple, hot pinks, burgendys, creams, chocolates, taupe, sky blues, and country greens!

I also really love "Applewood"-by WoodWick candles. I also adore Yankee Candles, Walmart/Target, and anything decorative or homemade too! I enjoy anything that smells like pumpkin, gingerbread, Christmas-y, cinnamon, apple, bonfires, amber, vanilla, honey, lilac, lily, gardenia...(anything "spicy/warm" or genuine, non-fake floral!). PETS

How many animals do you have? What kind (cats, dogs, etc!) Tell us a little about their favorite toys/treats! I have 5! 3 cats and 2 dogs!

-I have 2 dogs, (2 Australian Shepherds: Ranger (male, 3yrs) and Mykelti (female 2yrs). They love healthy treats, antlers, bandanas, durable toys, and pressed rawhides. Ranger is a registered therapy dog, and Mykelti is in training to become one as well! Both are very active in Rally, Obedience, and Agility and Therapy work. These pups are my world and I spend a lot of time training with them!

-I also 3 have amazing senior cats (Kojak (male), Isabella (female), and Lucky (male)) - All three are seniors and they love kitty treats, soft food, soft blankets, and toys of any kind! (they seem to really enjoy the feathered wand toys and laser pointers best). They tend to prefer hard treats, especially ones that are "catnip" flavored. They love catnip in general too, as well as the occasional Fancy Feast treat! They are all older, so I do my best to keep them comfortable and happy!

-I also have a large freshwater fish aquarium

No. I feed my dogs a grain-free diet (Fromm four star, and rotate with other foods), but do allow them to have a variety in their treats. The cats aren't picky, they eat a grain-free dry food, but they love the occasional tin of Fancy Feast, or crunchy catnip flavored cat treats. (None of my animals are very picky, but I do tend to avoid ANYTHING food-wise that is made in China or has been related to a recall, for safety reasons.)

Are there any kind of cat toys that should be avoided? (i.e. feathers, string, noisy toys that scare kitty...) Nope. They love all toys!

Do your kitties wear collars? All 3 of my cats wear proper fitting leather collars with buckles (we live near a very busy road, so collars are a must in case they ever get out!). All of the dogs wear Lupine collars & leads with Boomerang collar tags. None of the pets really need collars or anything of that nature. I do put little flowers on the girls' collars though! :lol3:

They love Temptations, it doesn't matter what flavor, once they hear the bag opening they come running. They love mylar balls, toy mice, wand toys and laser pointers.

The dogs are Snickers, Skuttles, Brooke and Buttercup. They love any kind of treat (but no rawhide or pig ears please.) They love squeaky toys and balls. They also love the rope toys that can be thrown and they can play tug of war with themselves (and mommy gets a break).

They mostly play with the little glitter balls, hair elastics, and laser pointers. Other toys end up in a black hole somewhere.
Does your pet (s) have any allergies to certain foods/treats that should be avoided? I don’t give them anything with dyes or artificial coloring. Merlin is the only one who likes treats. He goes crazy over the Petrodex dental treats (which he doesn’t need any more because he has no teeth) and freeze-dried chicken or beef.

I love fruits, veggies, popcorn, pizza, pasta, cheese, and of course, desserts! I don’t eat much meat so I love good vegetarian options. Italian is probably my favorite overall type of food.

I prefer milk or white chocolate over dark chocolate.

Prefer coffee and hot chocolate over tea. But, I do not drink any caffeine so it has to be decaf.

I love flavored coffee, especially French vanilla and hazelnut.

Just put those two together and I’m happy! I love foods that satisfy both, like chocolate covered pretzels. I also love both independently, and love just about anything sweet and any kind of nuts.

I am very allergic to shellfish and grapefruit.

If my SS will eat them then so will I!

I really love oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, or any other cookie that has nuts and/or fruit in them. I love nuts- the more the better! If I really had to choose I would want to try a cookie that is special to my SS’s holiday experience- what they would make for their family. After all, there is no such thing as a bad cookie!

No lobster or beef flavored cookies please! ; ) And, remember the whole grapefruit allergy thing. I also really don’t like anything spicy.

I don’t know if they are technically ‘hobbies’ but I love theatre (especially musical theatre), and fine art. I don’t paint but I love going to the art museum, and especially love the Renaissance and the Impressionists. I also love to sit around and do puzzles or other crafts. Not sewing or crocheting because I have zero talent- more like Macaroni art.

I love to collect baskets/trinkets from around the world. And, I love items that are handmade and original. I also like things that are small because I don’t have a lot of space to display them.

Animal wise I love monkeys, butterflies, turtles, and, of course, cats! I have a few cat figurines and like ones that are very colorful, handmade, or otherwise unique. I also collect things with turtles or butterflies because they remind me of my Mom. I also have a pretty awesome magnet collection, and love art and art books (especially from the Italian renaissance).

Finally, I have a love of bizarre action figures. I currently have a Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Nancy Pearle (who is a crazy librarian), and of course, Dexter (from the TV show). They are very random but always make me laugh!

My two favorite authors are Tom Robbins and Margaret Atwood, with Jitterbug Perfume being my all time favorite book. My favorite artist is a band called Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, but I am also obsessed with Green Day, The Lumineers, Incubus, The Beatles, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews Band, I could go on and on…. Mainly, I prefer stuff from the 60’s and 70’s with a rock influence. I admit I don’t watch a ton of movies but love The Shawshank Redemption, Les Mis, Great Expectations, and classical comedies like Super Troopers and Dazed and Confused. I do get pretty into TV shows with Dexter and Breaking Bad being my top two favorites!

Yes but again, more basic kid ‘keep your mind off stuff’ macaroni art. An intense art project would scare me off but something more simple like scrapbooking, collage, or even coloring a fuzzy poster makes me happy!

I actually don’t have pierced ears. I know, crazy right? I had them pierced as a kid and they got horribly infected and I had to have like, five major surgeries on them. So, no more earrings (or any other piercings for that matter) for me!

White bronze is the only one I am for sure of.

I love necklaces and bracelets! With those I do like simple and basic but also love big statement pieces that can dress up an outfit. I don’t tend to wear a lot of bright colors (more of a monochromatic girl with whites, blacks, and greys) but do like colorful jewelry when it’s not too over the top.

What size shirt do you wear?


A medium in blouses and tops meant for a tighter fit, large in t-shirts (which I love to sleep in).

Do you prefer t-shirts, sweatshirts or blouses?


I love t-shirts and sweatshirts (especially hooded) for just lounging around in, and tend to wear them a size big for that purpose (so a large in T-shirts and usually an XL in sweatshirts). I love blouses for the daytime too!

I tend to dress very monochromatic (blacks, whites, and greys) and then embellish with colorful accessories. Not a big fan of large prints.

Two Cats: Ella, a 3 year old DSH Torbie girl, and Diego, a 1 year old DSH all white little boy. I also have a small 5 gallon aquarium with several fish and a frog named Fernandos (because Fernando died. Get it? ; ) )

In terms of treats both love chicken and any kind of fish flavors (especially salmon and tuna). Ella is a little more picky and prefers more chewy treats while Diego will eat anything and everything. As for toys they both love anything that comes on the end of a wand- especially feathers! Neither are crazy for toys that make sound or rolly balls but do like soft little stuffed mice and stuff to chase around and love on. Ella is a climber and likes to jump and reach for things up high while Diego likes his feet on the ground.

They do not eat any grains.

I have three cats, Simon is a big fat orangie (tabby) who is king of the hierarchy, is a pig about food, and loves anything he can JUMP for (and he can jump to my eye level - I'm 5'8!). Garfunkel is a skinny buff/tan tabby who is cuddle-crazy, but is also crazy about food (though never seems to gain weight) and loves chasing things along the floor (like strings, etc.). Joni is my pretty petite calico and she is more reserved in her affections. She also gets picked on by the boys so it's hard to get her to play with da bird because if she catches it they go straight for her - maybe some solo toys for her? She doesn't really play with the kickeroos either. I don't know what kind of treats they like best because I am a very mean mommy and I do not feed them (or let them eat or taste) any kind of human or table food. I also don't feed them anything with fish. They do love cat treats, and I usually get the Wellness kind, but anything without corn, wheat, or soy is fine.

No fish please. No corn, wheat, or soy.

Are there any kind of cat toys that should be avoided? (i.e. feathers, string, noisy toys that scare kitty...)

Anything's fine!

Do your kitties wear collars? If so what kind?

Yes - breakaways from Petsmart, not sure of the brand.

What kind(s) of brush or comb do you have for your cats and/or dogs?

I have the furminator but unfortunately have never had any luck in getting them to accept brushing, so they pretty much groom themselves.

Do your cats like catnip, valerian, or honeysuckle?

They like catnip but I don't give it often (creates aggressive play and the boys do enough of that on their own!). Never tried the other two!
