Hope I'm in the right forum area. My vet suggested we get a cat tower so my more aggressive cat could survey it's domain. Sadly, my cats have never had a tower before. My 13 year old used to just go on top of the kitchen cabinets.

So my question is, how tall of a tower do you think I need? Since it's not just for play, she needs to be up high I would think. Do you think she should be able to get adult human height?

I'm not worried about how it looks, just want happy cats. Peanut and Angel appreciate any ideas. ;)

We've got a ceiling-high tree that's close to 3 meters (10 ft.), and both cats that have used it like(d) to go almost all the way to the top, so I'd say get as high a tree as you can fit.

I've been looking at a lot of cat trees, but am having problems finding one to support Peanut's weight. He's about 17-18 lbs (I think that's about 8 kg). The tree is to help Angel but if Peanut wants to use it too I want it to be sturdy enough. Anyone know of brands that are made well enough to support a bigger cat?

Check out Wayfair.com. I have purchased several dozen cat trees from them. I really like Armarkat and Kitty Mansions products. I too have several larger cats, including a 17 pounder. He does well on the Armarkat classic 74" tree and the Kitty Mansions Hollywood (or Redwood) trees.

I would just look for something with a 20+ inch base as that will be a more sturdy tree.

Catsplay.com is good too. They make them to order so there is a wide range of colors and base sizes to choose from.

Not sure if your big guy is fat or just big, but if he's fat he might need a tree that is "stepped" so he can climb up it.

I'd get one as tall as can fit. Cats think of vertical space as part of their territory so the more space they have the more content they feel.
