My former kibble addict is now on his third month with Nutro Natural Choice wet canned cat food in minced and sliced flavors of Chicken, Turkey and Chicken & Tuna. I tried some NNC in pate flavors and he won't touch pate no matter the flavor.

Yesterday, I was at Target with my wife and while she was doing her thing in other departments, I strolled on over to the pet food isle. I spied some Sheba wet canned cat food (Sheba Premium Cuts in Gravy) "Chicken Entree". BTW, the webiste is: http://www.sheba.com/Products

The ingredients looked good to me since it's grain free, gluten free, soy free, no vegetables and no carrageenan and they're listed below.

Chicken Broth, Chicken, Meat By-Products, Chicken Liver, Natural Flavor, Starch, Added Color, Fish Oil (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Minerals (Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Copper Sulfate),Tetra Potassium Pyrophosphate, Salt, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex [Source of Vitamin K Activity]), Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Xanthan Gum, Taurine, DL-Methionine

Guaranteed Analysis:

Crude protein, Min, 10.0%

Crude fat, Min 2.5%

Crude fiber, Max 1.5%

Moisture, Max 80.0%

Ash, Max 3.2%

Taurine, Min 0.05%

My cat gobbled the 3 ounce can down in two sittings and he was pretty vocal about it too. The only drawbacks seem to be the meat by-products and xanthan gum. Another drawback is Sheba is manufactured by Mars Petcare US. A few years back, I think there was a pet food recall by Mars.

Do you people think Sheba Premium Cuts is a good food since I want another brand of wet canned cat food besides Nutro Natural Choice just in case my picky cat all of a sudden starts rejecting Nutro Natural Choice.

I've listed the Nutro Natural Choice in the chicken flavor for a comparison.

Ingredients and Guaranteed Analysis:

Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Egg Product, Pork Broth, Natural Flavors, Minerals (Calcium Carbonate, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide), Guar Gum, Tetra Potassium Pyrophosphate, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Folic Acid), Xanthan Gum, Taurine

Guaranteed Analysis:

Crude Protein (Min.)     10.00%
Crude Fat (Min.)     3.00%
Crude Fiber (Max.)     1.00%
Moisture (Max.)     82.00%

I just started feeding mine Sheba cuts in gravy, the mixed grill. she actually likes it, which is huge bc she is the most stubborn little girl i've ever met. i have tried every brand possible, high quality, low quality, and she would snub her nose at everything. she used to not be picky, when she was a kitten i had her on the good stuff, but now that shes one, shes so picky but she will eat sheba. so sheba it is :-D

The only ingredients I really dislike in the Sheba are the starch (most likely corn starch) and added color (why must color be added to food?). The Nutro has neither of those. But overall not bad.

I mix a can of Turkey Cuts in with the ladies' other wet food once every 5-6 meals. Each cat gets about one spoonful. That makes them eat some of the flavors they are less than enthusiastic for.
