Hello,
I just have two questions, but first a quick back story: I've been posting on her for a month now concerning my pregnant cat. Well, she did a wonderful job giving birth and is a great mommy. I have two cats, bro and sis who mated. Well I have her in my spare bedroom with several large boxes and a litter box with food and water of course. I let her out several times a day to wonder about but she promptly goes back to the kittens in a timely fashion- like I said good mommy. However I'm worried about her. I've been feeding her a can and a half I wet food a day, due to the fact that now that she has given birth she looks so skinny! She's been eating so much, her food and she is starting to sneak her brothers wet food, which he has stopped eating totally! I'm just really worried. Should i feed her more or what?! She always has dry food at her disposal and a big cup of fresh water. The kittens appear to be doing fine but one is a little smaller than the rest and I don't have a scale to weigh them, but I'm assuming since she's with them all day they eat to their content and I've noticed they have gotten heavier so I believe them to be okay. Plus, my momma cat has fleas, she got from a friends puppy i was baby sitting a while back. Could his be the issue? We're getting advantix this weekend. I've picked off one flea from the kittens, but they don't seem to be infested. Just mom and dad. I'm worried,
Pleas help!

This doesnt seem to be much wet food she gets.  If she wants more, give her more. Make sure it is a full fat sort, no light products here!

The same with the dry she gots as fill up, what sort is it?  a variation for kittens or at least "active cats", full fat, or a variation for adults, with reduced fat and extra much carbohydrates instead?

If you can get goat milk, use it too!  If  salomonella in eggs is not a problem at your place, mix in raw egg yolk (the yellow of eggs) with her wet food. Or this goat milk...

Otherwise you can give her some KMR of good quality as extra.

Fleas are of course not helping up the situation.  The drainage is essential.  Try and bathe her with some Dawn shampoo, this is a standard advice if you dont have suitable defleaser.

Cant you borrow a scale from some neighbour?  Best one measuring in grammes.

Good luck!

I don't know about that particular Sentry product,  but  I' ve heard some a lot of horror stories of Hartz, Sargents and Sentry products causing very bad side effects on pets.  so personally I would not use it for a nursing queen.

But you can use Advantage or Revolution.

Just after the kittens nurse and are contented,  take out the mama and apply the  flea product.  then  wait half an hour to let it dry before returning her to the kittens.   If they just nursed they probably won't cry ,  which would upset her.  Maybe take her in a room that is not right next door to them and just pet her or play with her for a while
