HI I'm enquiring about my cat, she is 62 days pregnant and is acting normal, she is eating etc, I set up a nesting box for her about a week ago and she is sleeping in it every day. She has always been a shy but loving cat but since she has been pregnant she has become the devil incarnate and hisses at us if we so much as dare look at her. she's not huge but fairly big for her as she's only a slight cat, she is not producing milk yet but looks shattered. the bit that bothers me is I read on all the sights that people see and feel the kittens moving a lot but on the odd occasion crystal has let me fel her tummy I can only feel slight movement nothing definite. Is this all normal

It can be so, she being defensive now, she is tensing up her muscles when you try and feel the kittens...

And her being high strung now isnt that unusual. Most get affectionate as high preg, but some gets defensive, even - aggressive.

Besides, in the natural cat world, looking at may often be hostile...  Home cats are used to looking at = lovingly, but she apparently is "regrediating" ie going backwards in behavior.

So yes, as I understand it is going normally.

Some links which I copied shamelessly from my collegues:

http://www.icatcare.org/advice/my-cat-having-kittens    ( This is a link to a group of articles on cat pregnancy, birth and kittens.   Read the ones on normal cat birth and on " when to wait and when to worry"  )

Good luck!

Ps.   Cats in pains tend to not having the same patience as otherwise, ie they can hiss etc...  So if you see signs on any other "legitime" source of pain - consult your vet.

Here I hope it is a not the most common, but yet normal reaction for pregnancy -

but you cant never be 100% sure...

Thanks for your advice, She has been in her nesting bed all day today sleeping bless her, (I'm shattered running up and down the stairs lol). I was stood at a distance watching her tummy earlier and I actually think I saw a wriggler for the first time, I was speaking to crystal very gently and to my surprise she was looking at me purring away which is a first so I didn't push it and stroke her or anything.I just want her to trust me for the birth if she need me, its quite upsetting as she as always been my cat if you know what I mean as my older cat is all for the family crystal was bought for me for my birthday and as always sat on my knee etc, hopefully she'll revert back once she has had her babies. I just want her to hurry up and give me some lovely healthy fur grandbabies.
