Hi All

I believe that my cat is pregnant, we had been told she was spayed, i took her to the vet around 5 weeks ago as i noticed her behaviour had changed and she was eating more. The vet couldn't confirm that she was pregnant, big help!!
Since then she has got fatter and is sleeping more and sleeping in really weird places
Last week she didnt eat for 24 hours and she was being sick and looking for a nesting place and was hiding.
Since then she has been sleeping on our stairs and normally she would run away from anyone walk up and down the stairs but she just stays there and doesn't move.

Im not sure when she got pregnant but we think around 7-8 weeks ago

Her belly has dropped and we have since her belly moving around for about 3 weeks

Any advice?

if you fealt her belly move around 3 weeks ago then she is surely due to give birth, aparently its normally give 2 weeks away from when you first see/ feel the kittens.

by everything you said it sounds to me she is ready/ or has been ready to give birth!

if theres still no sign in a couple of days i would take her to the vets :)

good luck :)

Agree with Mark, she is probably very very near now.

If they dont come in next couple of days, begin by phoning your vet, before you rush in.

Proceed to try and read on, articles and older threads here, look on youtube films too...

And the "neutering"?  Probably a lie to get you to easier adopt her.   It happens a cheap clinic vet with much to do, forgets one of them, but it is not common even in the cheap clinics.

Otherwise I would guess on a false pregnancy, but as you see them move it should be for real.

Good luck!

Thank you guys, I have been reading as much information as i can, she is very happy and content and she went to bed with me the other day which is something she hasn't done for a while and she slept as close to me as she could.

Still no change as yet, but the kids have gone back to school now so im hoping the quiet house will help.

Do you think i should give her wet food as well as dry? She is eating kitten dry food at the moment.

And should i shut her in a room with her food and litter tray?

Wet food is almost always good. And often better than dry. It is easier to make decent wet food than decent dry food, so if she ates wet - shoot!  :)

(some cats used to dry, dont eat wet, that is a problem).

Having her in one, her own room, may be wise.  She will probably feel safer, as it also means, nobody can get in by mistake.  Most breeders and rescuers have their mom to be in a closed room yes.

Time is going, comparing to the post two days ago. We said begin to worry if she doenst deliver in next couple of days....  But as she is calm and happy - it is good signs.

Do you have a friendly vet to phone and ask?   I guess he will say, as long she is happy and contend you can wait, but phoning and asking your vet is the book advice here.

Good luck!

Hated watching for movement in my queen cat. But just a few days before she give birth I know the movement was the kittens moving around. best way to tell you what it might look like is to put your finger under your T shirt and with one finger move it around. That is much like what moveing kitten in the tubby looks like or did with mine. Another way to explain it to was if you ever seen the movie Alien where the Alien is mobeing in said the human tubby. Kittens moveing in side the queen cat look like that too. Sorry but that was the best way to explain it for me. I am sure others whom had kittens can back that up for me here. Well I wish you the best in this and please keep us posted on how your queen cat is doing. Alot of good people here to give ya support. :-)
