so i have never been around cats who are pregnant and my cat is acting kinda odd.....

She is starting to walk funny and putting her tail between her back legs we checked her rear and she looks fine this is concerning to me since this is her first litter any ideas as to what is going on or is this just normal.

I have no idea as I have zippo experience with pregnant kitties.  I've asked a mod to move this to the pregnant cat and kitten forum so it might get more attention if you don't get any answers here.

 Hi Angie.

First,  do you know how far along she is?   If you don't know exactly the date ,   can you at least estimate by when she was last in heat,  or when you noticed her nipples get  pinker and sticking out,    how long ago did you notice she was getting big?   And how big is she?  like just a  bit rounded ,  or huge?

Can you   feel or see the kittens moving.?   If so,  when did you first notice that?

How is her appetite?  Is she acting lethargic?

I am guessing you did not notice any  rotten smelling discarge from her vagina  ?   ( I would think you would have mentioned ,  but I figure I should ask.)

******    When you say she is walking funny,  do you just mean she's  sort of waddling because her belly is so big?  or is she acting like she is in pain ?

Or is she walking unsteadily  / shaking ?  ( If so better get her to the vet..  that could be eclampsia.    I think that  is  more common when nursing but can happen during pregnancy.      Here is a link  http://www.vetinfo.com/treating-eclampsia-feline-pregnancy.html#b

Re putting her tail  between her back legs  ....   hmmm   it reminds me of how they do that when they don't want to let a tomcat mate.     But this  would surely be some different context.

Oh!   Was it when you were trying to examine her back end?  If so,   it might just be a sort of way of being protective of it  or feeling a little worried about what you were doing.

Basically, when in doubt it can't hurt to talk to your vet.
