WE have a new kitten and as a result, Mat spends a couple of hours a day tearing through the house chasing it down. He used to be a pretty sedentry cat, with the laser tag being his only activity.

We had his caloric intake at 238 calories/day give or take a few and he kept gaining(regardless that that's the amount for a 12lb cat) all the way to 14.6lbs last week.

Should I adjust his intake to account for a rise in activity, or keep it the same, knowing that he was gaining before?

I'd continue to feed him as you have been and just watch his weight. If he starts loosing too much too quickly, then I'd adjust, but those calories should be fine even if he's more active I'd think.
