Hello all!

I'm a total newbie, only just joined a little while ago and would like to introduce our kitty.  My husband and I are owned by GDF Kyrie Eleison, a.k.a. Kiri / SweetBoy / Hooligan.  Kiri is approximately 4 years old and, from what we've gathered, a melanistic Bengal.  Altough he looks totally black, it's possible to see tabby stripes in the undercoat when the sun shines on him at just the right angle!  Kiri has been with us just about 2 years.  He is the result of a breeder's decision to get out of breeding and the actions that grew out of that decision.  All of a sudden, there were all these cats, coming out of nowhere... and hanging around our barn.  They did not look or act like barn cats.  Kiri was the most personable (and the only one who stayed around), so he came home with us and became a house cat.  Best decision!  While my husband grew up with cats, I have always had horses and dogs, so he's my very first cat.  Kiri is my all-day companion and has become a real member of our little family.  In fact, my husband just spent the last half a minute counting to see how long Kiri kept his head pressed up against hubby's face (13 seconds...).  Kiri participates in absolutely everything that goes on, from helping me quilt (he's awesome at holding down a quilt) to gardening on the deck or playing guitar or ukulele.  He is a very loving and lovable kitty and I feel very lucky that he ended up in our barn!  BTW, it was a huge relief when the vet told us that Kiri was negative for everything.  He couldn't have been on his own for all that long.  As for the name, it just seemed appropriate that an abandoned kitty might look up at the heavens and ask for mercy!  I have no idea what his original name was, but he answers to Kiri now.  He is a 16 lb chunk of love and we're glad he's here.

Here's our boy:

Here he is, indulging his musical aspirations:

and showing his philosophical side:

and doing his favourite thing - being absolutely best at keeping any item placed on the floor from flying up in the air!  Here, he's holding down a quilt on which I was working at the time.  Notice the innocent look.
