Lunch meat in a pinch?

My pet store is closed on Sundays, and the cats ran out of food. I went out to grab a can of different stuff real quick (they are on an all moist diet) and came back to find my roomie feeding them deli meat (turkey). Is it going to make them sick?

I wouldn't feed deli meat regularly due to its high sodium content, but it's fine in a pinch. I have heard vets recommend it to entice sick kitties to eat.

Turkey deli meat is one of the very few human foods that my cats will eat.  I don't have it very often but when I do I give them a little tiny bit here and there.
