Hi all, I adopted my two 10 week old babies 2 1/2 weeks ago and they've had URI's. The girl moreso than they boy. He's almost completely cured, she's still sniffling and sneezing a bit. This morning, when I was feeding her the antibiotic drops, I noticed a little smudge of blood beside her nostril. Why?? And why is she taking sooo long to heal?? Please help with any ideas or suggestions!

Maybe the other kitten accidentally scratched her nose? Can you tell if its a cut or is it coming from the inside? Sometimes URI's take weeks to go away.. and if she has a cut on her nose she could be messing with it and that could be why its taking a long time.

URI's can be frustrating to clear up. If you are concerned, call your vet and ask for advice - he would understand how sick she was and how long to expert her to heal.

Could the blood on her nose be from a bloody nose? Her sinus cavity will be inflamed from the infection and she might be shedding blood (one idea).

Suggest you call your vet for advise.
