Hi Kyra and welcome to TCS!

Your kittens are adorable and I do hope you can find them all homes soon! Have you tried posting an ad on your local Craigslist and posting flyers and local vets and pet stores? You may find someone interested here but this is an international forum so the odds of someone being in your area who is looking to adopt is somewhat slim. Advertising local far increases your chances (as does letting us know where you are from just in case someone here is interested).

There was a thread recently where we talked about ways to write a Cragislist ad to make it safe and efficient so check that out: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/262227/...-nwo-area-desperately-need-homes#post_3387594 . Don't hesitate to ask follow up questions if you need to!

Welcome again, and best of luck!

EB24, I have done everything except Craig's list...it scares me...too many freaks...ppl wanting to sell pets to labs and  use for pit bull fights, etc....I am in Fort Worth Texas....yeah all I ever get is 'good luck'  from everyone...I guess I will end up just getting them spayed and letting them run outside...my dogs kill cats and small dogs...I never wanted more cats anyway...now I am stuck with three that I don't need...super....

I think it's probably because there are just SO MANY kittens out there needing homes.  One can only find homes for so many

Hopefully you'll be able to find homes for your other 3.  Are you keeping one of them.  By my count, you originally started with 7
.   You've had them so long now, you may end up with a houseful...that's why I can't foster...I could never let them go

I know that is a common feeling and very much how I felt prior to posting myself. I think part of it may be where you live (some places seem to be more animal friendly than others). But, I know for me once I started posting my own ads and screening my own adopters I felt very in control of the situation. I would urge you to give it some thought and see if it's a format you can't work with. And, if you decide to, I am more than happy to help in any way that I can.

I am also sorry that you are feeling so frustrated about your situation. Unfortunately the Spring and Fall are prime kitten season times and there are just an abundance of them running around. I know you haven't been able to find a spot for them in a shelter, but have you tried working with the shelter in another capacity? First, see if they will take your kittens on as 'fosters.' That means you will continue to house them but they will advertise them for you. If that's not an option at least ask if you can use their facilities for meeting potential adopters. Most shelters have at least one "meet and greet room." I bet if you explained your situation they would let you borrow it during non-peak hours to introduce people you meet on CL to your kittens. A local vet's office may let you do the same thing with an appointment room, or a local PetStore that houses animals but has an empty space. It has the added screening benefit that most of the crazies won't want to meet you in such a public place, and it will weed them out automatically!

Please don't think we are just here to tell you good luck and not offer more advice. But, you have to remember your audience. This is an international forum that's purpose is to give advice. The majority of us aren't local to your area, and we can't do it for you. All we can do is try and give you tips and support you while you do the legwork. I know how frustrating re-homing kittens can be but I promise if you keep looking you will find the right homes for them. And, there is no better feeling than knowing you saved their lives!

It's okay to take a day or two off and be frustrated with it all. But, after that, brush yourself off and get back to the hunt! Let me know I how I can help you further and GOOD LUCK!

Hi all! I still have the 7 month old CATS that are now spayed and I would like to find them good homes. How do you keep them away from my plants and the tv? Water spraying doesn't seem to do it!

You're right, water spraying rarely does anything to make cats behave better. You'd probably get more response to your question about the plants if you start a new thread in the Behavior forum.

I' m the original poster of "two beatiful boys desperately née homes...." & had lots of help & advice (big thanks to eb24). I never did end up going to Craig's List way, but did do TONS of emailing flyers (with LOTS of GOOD pix & a little headprt-tugging copy) to friends, associates, you name it, always asking them to forward it. I went to shelters, vets, groomers with flyers. Basically I never stopped. It took some work....both computer AND legwork, but now we've had TWO litters adopted out befor they went back to the shelter! It's hard-& I do think Craig's list can be done right (you might let someone who's done it before help you word it).....but exhaust a few other venues!!!!

Good luck & keep us posted!!!!!
