So the other day my son's girl friends came to the door with the tinyest kittens i had ever saw,

I asked how old they were and they said 6 weeks and the lady who owned them said they were old enough to leave there mom,

How irresonsible is that ? The kittens looked more like 4 weeks to me,

So these teenagers took them home to there mom , Who said straight away no, (she doesnt like cats)

The girls were on about putting them in a box and leaving them in there garden,

I said they will die out there, So i said i will keep them here untill they find homes for the poor little mites :(

They fit in your hand they are that small, I just dont understand some people !?!?!?!

Why let the cat have babies then get rid of them so quick ??

Its going to be a long night i bet. Has anyone had experience with kittens this age ? I have only ever had them from 8 weeks,

Do they need any thing in perticular ? they are eating and drinking for themselfs.

At that age I usually add some kitten formula to their wet food, because if they were with their mama they would still be nursing so I figure the formula will fill the nutritional gaps. I usually keep that up until 8-10 weeks. Otherwise, no real special needs, except to keep them safe. . .little kittens have such a habit of crawling into recliners and other dangerous places, so I usually keep them in a kennel or bathroom when I can't supervise, until they're older.

You should talk to the vet about shots and deworming. Probably they'll wait a few weeks to give them their shots but they should be de-wormed now. OTC de-wormers may not be safe or effective, so see if the vet will sell you something safer. Although I think you might have better OTC options over there. But anyway, call the vet to see what he/she recommends.

Agree.  One diff between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, 8 weeks knows what food is and what litter is.  4 weeks may test test to eat litter. So a non clumping litter is necessary for these smalls.

Make sure they have a warm and cozy corner as their own place.  And be VERRY mommy with them, even more than you would with a 8 weeks.

Re  deworming, the british brand of Milbomax should be safe for kittens, our experienced british forumists told.

Continue to report and ask questions!

Good luck!
