well cat but i dont know which. I have five cats....two weeks ago one of my cats went through a traumatic experience. I took her to the vet, initially because two weeks after vaccines, she has been acting weird, began running and panting ie was dehydrated and vomited off and on for a week. she is two years old. I took her to the vet...who gave her fluids, some medication for vomiting, did x-rays, bloodwork. it cost 450.00 and he claims she was constipated and sent me home with fiber. He couldn't determine that just by feeling her belly (incompetent and price gouging jerks I guess). Then, I took her back and another vet saw her and felt her belly and claimed she 'wasn't' constipated anymore but I suggested what about UTI and he said they needed to take a sample of urine and it could be UTI (yeah sure). I refused at the time and said i'd take my own sample. One day she began acting weird again...as if something was going on and just began running like crazy. I got really scared...took her to the vet right away, and this jerk vet tech, made both of us nervous and she escaped from her cloth cat carrier and almost ran out in the road. it was horrific....we chased her for an hour...and this horrible vet tech...I don't know what he did to her trying to get her...he was aggressive and I heard her hissing at him a few times and shes NOT a hisser..she is a sweet young fun loving two year old. he tried to grab her from under a car and I heard her hissing badly...then they tried getting her with a rabies restraint when I felt I couold have gotten her and it scared her more and she ran and ran and they chased her...then she was in a sewage type hole....and her LIFTED her up with the rabies restraint by her neck...then he GRABBED her by the scruff and carried her back angrily, not holding her body...then almost threw her in the room.

then I was treated like dirt and told I shouldn't try to comfort her...by the insane stupid staff. we both went through "hell" and her claws were all messed up and bleeding. Then, the stupid vet determined...she needed like 10 medications...for this. which all seemed so unnecessary. I feel as if they weren't addressing her ACTUAL issue and just constantly trying to make money. these people seem like crooks thieves and abusers too. The doctor prescribed convenia, then buprenex, onsior, and this dermachlor to rub her claws with. he also without my permission injected her with torbugesic...and gave her fluids...I didn't really approve the torbugesic this jerk just did it. He felt her belly for 2 seconds and determined, she isn't constipated (weird they needed x-rays for that before)...then sent me home with 3 medications for her claw issues..(stupid).  I didn't even give her all the meds and just a little burepnex, and one onsior before I decided not to give it to her anymore. this was all horrifying and at first she was medicated and sick but seemed to be better...a little. honestly...I don't feel like shes better or they addressed her actual issue. I then took her back for a recheck, and it was a different doctor. this jerk, was very aggressive with her..pulling and tugging at her aggressively. he was horrible...and he has dealt with her and my other cats and wasn't this way. He wasn't even going to check her claws and I had to ask this immature jerk to. then I noticed a bump on her skin and he GRABBED it really hard pulling at it...and said...oh it's a cyst and to watch for it...huh? the stupid vet tech lady said..."oh htats where they gave the torbugesic"...hmm..an injection of torbugesic caused a cyst? im so scared these incompetent nuts are possibly even causing more problems for her...who knows what kind of sick practice this is...this is the feeling I get because prior to going to this place...she was totally healthy. I'm worried about stomach ulcerations or obstructions they aren't noticing or didn't care to notice. I went on a 2 day trip and came back...she seemed ok. But now, suddenly...she is vomiting...she vomited her food once, and then vomited again. then I was gone for hours...and came back..and there was vomit in several different areas of the house...and I just now noticed something horrible...red blood...like..just stained on the floor...this is horrifying of course. I gave the history for a reason...based on all this...could it be that from the stress she may have developed an ulcer or does she possibly have some other condition going on...not that anyone would know of course but who knows based on experience...maybe the chase and all the trauma could have caused more damage or exacerbated any colon or intestinal issue she previously had? also the rough idiot aggressive vet....who to me seems as if he's damaging the cat more....could it be the convenia? im so scared and worried...I cant guarantee its HER that vomited that blood too but I suspect it is....another cat of mine her sister vomited yesterday or wanted to...also I switched their food to a 'better' one before I left on the trip and who knows....is there any way of determining as well...WHO is vomiting the blood in this case??? this is so confusing and I don't know what to do.....

I feel all the trauma that cat went through...just exacerbated her problems more...because now she is TERRIFIED thinking im going to take her to the vet every minute...she just runs off...all that stress, the medications, everything....plus the stupid convenia is still in her system but I feel she is having some kind of intestinal issues...that these incompetent idiot vets ignored...do blood tests determine any other major issues such as these or does a cat need an endoscopy or something else done? her blood was pretty normal and x-rays they claimed were normal except for 'constipation." later, when I went back the last time...the first vet who claims she was constipated, the vet tech said "well he figures she was constipated"...so there was no real diagnosis....he just assumed she was constipated because she had some backed up stool....she does this thing with her mouth where shes licking her lips....maybe as a response to almost wanting to vomit. of course I plan on taking her to a vet or whoever if/once I find out WHO is vomiting this blood.....but also is there any way of being able to determine who is the one doing it...or an effective way, since I have five cats...this is all so confusing and scary of course....

I think she needs to see another vet.  Her symptoms sound like the same ones that my cat had on and off for six years while I did the vet hopping.  He would get constipated, nauseous, anorexic, and would vomit bile.  Often the bile that he would vomit would have a red tinge to it, I don't know if that was blood are not.  I know that usually for people anyway vomiting caused by a bleeding ulcer looks like coffee grounds.  He is being treated for IBD now.

Unfortunately there is no definitive way to diagnose this, it's a diagnoses of elimination.  They test for all other possible causes than treat for IBD.  I think she needs to be seen by another vet.  Of course finding a good vet can be a daunting task.  You could ask other people who own cats which vet they use and you could also check online reviews.  She needs to be seen soon.

I guess one thing that isn't clear to me is....is she eating, pooping and peeing normally?  You may not know this with 5 cats, the only way you will know this is to keep her separated for at least a day, with her own litter box, food and water.  This information will be important for any Vet to know to determine possible blockage, however, don't' know if you want to wait that long before taking her to a different Vet, based on the below:

Vomiting Blood

Red blood in the vomitus indicates active bleeding somewhere between the mouth and the upper small bowel. This is most commonly caused by a foreign body. Material that looks like coffee grounds is old, partially digested blood. This also indicates a bleeding point between the mouth and upper small bowel.

Any cat who vomits blood has a serious condition and must be seen right away by a veterinarian

Honestly, you've got a few different issues going on.  1)  you don't like your current veterinary clinic, you feel like you can't trust them, they don't treat you or your furbabies kindly...is there another option?  (does your Vet have it's practice outside?  I don't understand how your kitty got outside in the first place when the tech was taking her out of her carrier...that is usually done in the examination room)

2)  you were given lots of medications to use...some for the paws, some for the abdominal issues.  Have her paws healed up yet?  If you go to a new Vet, you will need to be able to tell them exactly which meds she took and which ones she didn't

3) yes, injections can cause bumps at the injection site

4) cats do get ulcers

5)  stress can do all kinds of things, but cats who are stressed usually over groom themselves
