She wasnt like that at all, she is very loving to us and her kittens, but today i realized she was acting weird, she scratched me, i cant even touch her now, and she wont let her kittens come near her, verytime they come a little near her she will start hissing and she will bite and scrath them, they are almost 5 months old, what's the matter with her? What should i do? I have scratches all over my hands, she never scratched before and she used to love it when i petted her but everytime i tried to pet her today she would scratch me, i need quick replies

Has she been spayed? It sounds like the instinctive behavior of a female in heat driving out her current kittens to prepare for new ones.

She's probably in heat and trying to drive them off before the next batch comes :(. Has she been outside or near a tomcat? If so, she's probably already pregnant again. If any of her kittens are male, you'll need to keep them separated from her and the female kittens. . .5 months is old enough for them all to mate, and then you'd really have some problems! This situation should improve after she's spayed, although once the female kittens go into heat there may be even more rivalry going on.

Have you contacted any of the animal welfare groups in the area? They may know of a cheaper spay/neuter option nearby.

Where do you live (US, UK...?) If US, there are many options available for people who cannot afford spay/neuter costs. Humane Societies, rescue groups who have access to spay/neuter certificates and grant money, as well as low cost spay/neuter clinics.

If elsewhere, maybe someone else can offer advise?

i have contacted them but they will only provide cheaper prices only for homeless and stray cats

Oh dear. She probably did mate, unless there are absolutely no stray cats around your house at all :(. It only takes a few seconds for cats to mate, and if she's in heat the toms were probably waiting right around the corner because of her smell. Be prepared for the possibility of another litter, and again, separate the girls and boys right away or you'll end up with way more than that.

Maybe if you explained your situation they would still help out with cheaper prices? Or let you make payments so it could be done right now? I wouldn't want to encourage you to be dishonest and pretend she's a stray, but it might be better than becoming overrun with kittens like you're headed for :/.

You have probably already researched this but here is   a link to a discussion about places to get cats spayed .  maybe you could check with some of the vets mentioned and see if the price is less.     Or see if you can borrow some money from someone to get it done  now.   Otherwise I am afraid you will end up with more kittens,  and more expense.

Willowy is right,  if any of the 5 month old kittens are boys,  they must be separated from the mother and any sisters until the females are spayed.
