Ok, so I have the 2 male kittens, and 1 female rescued when they were a day old.  They are going to be 3 months next week.  Last night (and maybe one other occasion), we caught one of the males biting and holding his sister by the neck, and humping!  Pulled him off, and sure enough, his penis was poking out!  I knew siblings would mate if given the chance, but what are the chances they will get her pregnant??  I was planning on getting her spayed first (for this exact reason!) but can't do it until next month for financial reasons.  I found a  vet who would do it this young.  Should I worry??  I do NOT want more kittens!

Although they are pretty young, if he was in the mood and she's in heat, its pretty normal behavior, actually.  I would get her spayed ASAP and then have the boys neutered as soon as you can after that.  She may not get pregnant but there is a chance she will, so time is of the essence here.

If there are any low-cost clinics around you, it may be worth taking them instead of waiting until you can afford a vet.  Our clinic is absolutely the best thing going.  Although I have to drive 35 miles one way, it is well worth it.

She hasn't shown any signs of being in heat.  But she's soooo small!!  I can't imagine her preggers!  The only clinic that will spay at this age seems to have good prices.  But we just had some repairs done to our AC unit, so money's tight.  I had plans on taking her in October.  Good thing I work from home.  I'll just keep her in the basement with me while I work.  Horny little boogers  LOL

Yep...setting up an appointment.  The closest appointment they have is 2 weeks away.  Ungh.  But it's low cost...only $75 to spay.  I'll bring the boys back in a month.  So basically, if I have to leave the house, I'll put the 2 boys in the basement, and the girl upstairs where she'll at least have the dogs.  And she'll just have to stay in my line of sight when we're home.  I've already instructed the kids to push any of the boys off if they see them on top of her.

Would the boys still do that, though, if she's NOT in heat?  Like I said, she shows no signs of being in heat.  No personality changes, she's as affectionate as always, no howling, and no spotting/bleeding that I can see.

It can be hard to tell  with the first heats.   Sometimes the symptoms are very subtle and humans don't notice.but the boy cats can smell it.

and some male cats will mate or try to mate with anyone they can.  whether or not she's in heat,  he will try.

He may not be totally capable of siring kittens yet  but he is practicing!   and I doubt she is really in heat yet,   that would be very young.   but 4 months is not uncommon....  and in humans sometimes there are girls who start their period at a very young age .    so exceptions can happen

and I think you're very wise not to wait on getting her spayed  just to make SURE !  Better to be safe!

Where are you located?  We have vets here who spay/neuter for $20!      $75 seems steep for a low-cost vet.

I'm in Northern Virginia area.  My friend knows another vet who does her feral catch and release spaying/neutering for around $20.  But not sure if they'll be as careful with my babies...not sure if they use students for it.

My regular vet wants $250!
