My cat was recently treated at the Er vet as well as our primary for a new LUTD diagnosis. He was sent home yesterday after urinating on his own. He is now on a prescription diet (royal canin so) for the long term. He refuses to eat. This could also be attributed to the pain med he is on, as he is extremely exhausted. Has anyone else had this problem? Tips for getting a cat to eat a new food?! We purchased both the prescription dry diet and canned...he has refused both for 24 hours. Tips would be great :)

What kind of pain meds is he on and did he receive fluids at the vet?  Also, was he eating on his own before he left the vet?
