Is it possible to leash train an outside pet or a stray you adopt? I use to have a cat that wasn't leash train follow me for walks!

I would like kittens/cats to walk on a leash at parks !

I assume your question to mean "When you adopt a stray cat, can you leash train the cat?" Yes, absolutely, you can train a cat to wear a harness with a leash attached. First you would try this inside your house before attempting to go outside. This way the kitty will learn how the harness feels and how to walk with the harness on while in the safety of the home. Then the next step would be to take the kitty outside in your own yard and follow him/her around while holding onto the leash. I would not recommend taking any cat to a park on leash. I think there would be too many dogs, cars and activity that would scare the cat causing him/her great emotional stress or worse, getting loose and lost. Best to stay close to home.

My adopted strays, at least the 3 adults, follow for walks when they feel like it, with my 2 little dogs. The 2 younger kittens are still "wild", but have started coming in to the house to eat now, but no walks, yet. However I do live in an isolated country region, which is very different from a town. 10 cars a day is a traffic jam here ;) . I don't even use leads for the dogs, though, and the cats have the liberty to come and go as they want. They've decided to come, most of the time. It took me weeks to be able to stroke them, and get purred at, but patience, love, calm, and good grub does wonders.

Kittens can be neutered at two pounds. I would not wait, since this is an outside living cat. If you want to train your kitten to a harness, then by all means, go ahead. Just make sure you take off the harness when you are done. Do not leave the harness on the kitten whom lives outside and could get tangled or caught up on something.
