Is It Harmful?

Garfield accidentally fell into the nearly empty garbage can. The only thing that was actually thrown away was a Pop Rocks wrapper. For some reason some of the pop rocks stick to the bag and there was some left. Well when he jumped out the wrapped was in his mouth. I instantly took it away but I'm curious was there any reason for my serious alarm? Or are they not as harmful as I thought they would be?

(Mind you I'd of taken them from him regardless but I managed to startle the rest of my kitties extremely badly with how fast I reacted)

I doubt a little Pop Rocks will do any damage. It's not Pop Rocks Onion or Lilly flavor is it? LOL.

Keep an eye on him, but I am sure things will be fine.

It's a type of carbonated candy, made largely with sugar, and when dissolved in your mouth, makes bubbles. Kind of like carbonated drinks.
I agree with Pinkman, don't think it will harm him.

LOL...Pop Rocks. Brings back childhood memories. It feels weird on your tongue. 

Yeh, I don't see that it would do Garfield much harm. 

Thanks guys, I kept an eye on him and he seemed to be fine if not more hyper than normal. But I wasn't sure with the carbonation of it if it would hurt him or not. Lol though honestly I could see him freaking out and running into a wall or something when they started popping in his mouth.
