Does Royal Canin Calm work?

Hi, I was hoping someone could give me feedback on whether Royal Canin Calm has helped in making their cat less aggressive. Xander has always been easily overstimulated and an "attack cat," but it hasn't improved with age (he's 6) and recently resulted in my going to urgent care with a facial laceration that required glue. He also bit a friend of mine in the leg. I have tried a LOT of behavioral therapies over the years, so this time we are trying Calm and Prozac.

I'm a little hesitant about the Calm because a) he has urinary crystals and has been on Science Diet C/D wet for years, and b) the ingredients look just as crappy as the Science Diet. Pet store owners have said the C/D is no better than other wet foods and referred me to Weruva in particular, but I am reluctant to risk Xander's health.

Anyone had luck with this food?

This provides a description of the food.

Persoanally, I'd consider looking for the active ingredients separately, and providing them in an appropriate dose.

I'm posting from my phone, but I'm sure the correct dose of l-tryptophan, B3 (nicotinamide), and alpha-casozepine (Zylkene) for cats can be determined.

Have you already tried Bach's Rescue Remedy, Suntheanine (for which there are numerous cat treats), or Feliway already?

I did buy a Feliway diffuser. Do you suggest leaving it plugged in all the time, or only in stressful situations?

I say plug it in all the time for a few months at least. It takes a while for the Feliway to "fill up" the room. I recently added a new kitten to the household and I have been using the Feliway diffuser and spray, Rescue Remedy, and also Vetri-Science Composure Feline treats made into a powder added to their food.

Yes, the Feliway doesn't work immediately. It takes up to three days, really, to get "going." Even if you use the spray. When going to the vet, we spray the carriers a day in advance.

Thank you both for all the tips! I really would prefer to keep him on a wet food if possible.
