Hi kit finaly went into labour early hours this morning after keeping me up all night not wanting me to leave her and to always have a hand on her she started contracting at about 5 they where only weak with no pushing by 6 she started pushing and the bag around the kitten broke he was coming out breach and was stuck with his tale and one leg out for around 20 minutes once fully out he started making nosise and kit took strait to cleaning and looking after him :) within 5 she minutes she was done with him and second kitten was out and being sorted she got cleaned and sorted both out then slept while they fed for around an hour after that she had the third kitten got her cleaned and sorted had something to eat and used her litter box mum and babys look like they are doing fine.
My questions are
1. What is a health birth weight?
2. Whats peoples thoughts on the kitten that got stuck? (he is doing fine now)
3. Kit doesn't want me out of sight why might this be?
THANKS X

Congrats!

To your questions:   Around 100 grammes is nice and good.  Under 80 and I would look extra at them.

Under 60 is critical.   What were yours?

2.  Kittens, unlike human, seems to have seldom being invalidised at birth, so seldom CP and others...

Or possibly, the hurt ones do die off easily.

Unless you see something apparently wrong - which happens now and then.

Nay, the most common with kittens is, if they survived the birth and childhood, they do OK later too.

Which also means, it does pay to fight on even if they did had problems as babies.

3.  Ah, you are her Mom.  Which is a little funny, cats in the wild seldom have their mom with them when they deliver, nor some other cat pal.

See it as one of the examples of  the symbiose between humans and cats, which happens at the best.   We have lots of good from the cats, and the cats have lots of good from us.

Or if you want; they do use and misuse us mercilessly, but are also giving us much joy and harmony back...

Good luck!

Oh, so they are big kittens, above average.  Almost so it could be difficult for mom to have them.

And they also gain already, nice.

You didnt write up the fourth, but I presume it is roughly the same there?

Good luck!

ps.  Ah, Catapault explained, 3 kittens + one mom = four.

Mathematics!    :)

Congratulations! Now the wait is over. Sounds like all it well. By "all four are doing fine" I assume you mean mother cat plus 3 kittens = four?

Eager to see pictures after your mom comes to visit and see her "grand-kittens" and you can use her phone to take pictures.

It should go OK, precisely like weighing them.  Just make sure you do it near the nest, so Kit sees you and hears kittens aint protesting.

Make sure the water you are using is body warm, not too hot not too cold for them.    :)

As alternative to cotton wool you can prob use a bathing sponge.

Good luck!
