Hi everyone,
So my cat, Mitu, had watery eye that wouldn't go away a couple months ago. The vet said he has herpes virus and put him on lysine for the rest of his life. The first time he got it he's eye got better but then hes watery eye came back again. Now he has watery eye, not bad, but it comes and goes. The vet said its normal, but I want to hear from other people maybe with the same type of virus or that know something about this.
Can someone put me at ease with this watery eye? Is someone going thru same thing?
Every advice, or encouragement would be great.
Thank you.

Herpes virus is very common in cats. It does seem to come and go. You can increase the dosage during flares up to 1000mg a day, split into two doses.

She is already on 1000 a day...but he still has the watery eye. Is not bad, but its still here almost every day. Is this normal?

It's most likely irritated from dust or from airborne allergens.  I have a cat who has weepy eyes and some days are better than others due to the amount of dust and what's going on with the allergens in the air.  She also has herpes.  Be sure when you give the lysine that you give it in 2 doses so that it stays in the system.  If you're giving 1000 mg/day, give 500 mg in the AM and 500 mg in the PM.  I wouldn't worry unless you see colored discharge coming from the eye (yellow, green, or anything reddish) or if he starts rubbing it excessively.  Just like humans, kitties are susceptible to allergies.
