Kaylee and Otter (who are now 5 months, and 5.04 pounds and 4.10 pounds!) are the loves of my life, so I fed them the best. I had a decent paying job, so I bought Nature's Variety, which they of course adore. Well, I recently broke my leg, and while there is no 'light work' in a warehouse (and I have yet to get sick leave), my boss allowed me to do paperwork and other stuff for a pay cut until I get better.

What I want to know is, is there anything as healthy ('specially needs to be grain free) as Nature's Variety, but not as high as that price? (3.3oz cans usually run between 1.50-2.00, which they eat the most (3 cans a day)).

Do you know if anywhere near you carries Dave's Pet Food? My local "mom n pop" pet food carries it for around $1 per 5.5 oz can. It's grain-free, no by-products. Only ingredient I don't like is carrageenan.  There are a lot of online retailers that carry it too, still at reasonable prices even including shipping. Seems like great quality for the $.  I noticed HSN.com is selling the 13 oz cans of it for about $1.20 delivered. Also, have you thought about buying the Nature's Variety 13 oz dog food cans? The formula is EXACTLY the same as the cat food, but it is cheaper to buy this way.

Do you have a Tractor Supply anywhere near you?  We use their brand of food, 4Health, and we pay just over $20 for an 18-pound bag of food and the wet food is only 49 cents per can (large cans).  It has no corn, wheat, or soy in it and has very high quality ingredients.  It has lots of fruits and veggies in it as well.  Our 4 cats really thrive on it.  It does also come in a grain-free formula.

Krysta: no, there is not store that sells it.

Marshmellow: I will look into it. I've heard good things about it.

Peaches: I do not like fancy feast. There is a lot of stuff in there that I do not want to feed my cats.

jwheeler: yes there is. I'll check into that.

You may want to look at raw or homecooked then. It seems really daunting at first but once you start it's not hard at all.
