OMHeavens! There's a new "foodie" store in town and they carry 125 different k-cups for the Keurig!

My co-worker and I went in today over lunch, just to check out the store. They carry Lake and Lodge, which is the Green Mountain equivalent of Timothy's Italian Blend (which was one of our favorite coffees). We were so disappointed when GM bought it out and then discontinued the Italian Blend. But the lady assured us that L & L is as good as the Italian. And it is....I bought a box and am trying it now. Nice. My co-worker is pleased, too.

I love the store; they have a ton of stuff that's right up my alley, from the coffees and teas to all kinds of BBQ sauces and other condiments and snack-type foods. Rick is going to love it....he enjoys checking out new snacks.

I texted dear Richard and told him that we simply MUST (
) go into the store tomorrow morning. He said, "Well, if we MUST, we MUST!" I know he's going to have a field day with me tomorrow.

The price for the Lake and Lodge was $13.95 for 24 cups, which is even better than going to Bed Bath and Beyond. And BB & B doesn't carry Lake and Lodge anyway. My co-worker was getting his Timothy fix from eBay, but this is better than eBay, especially since you don't have to buy it in bulk. Plus, we save, simply by getting in the Frequent Buyers thing at the store. So we are happy campers.

The Barista Primo Columbia, another one of my favorites, is $16.95 for 24 k-cups. Not bad. No shipping and no tax.

Life is good.
(And it will be interesting to see what all Rick picks up tomorrow.)

You realise I understood about 32% of that, don't you.

125 different k-cups for the Keurig    hmmm... it's obviously not a very large bra cup size...

Lake and Lodge       Google that and someone tries to sell you a holiday

Timothy fix      You mean you can buy men on ebay??

It wasn't until I got to the Columbia bit that the penny dropped, and even then it took the Barista bit.

I'm sorry, Mani. I'm talking about k-cups for the Keurig coffee machine. My favorite k-cup brand was Timothy's Italian Blend. When Green Mountain bought out a lot of the k-cup businesses, they discontinued many of them, largely because they had something that already fit that particular brand. And, in this case, Green Mountain's Lake & Lodge coffee is a lot like Timothy's Italian Blend, so they discontinued Timothy's, much to my dismay and frustration.

My problem was that none of the local stores carried Lake & Lodge k-cups. And if I was going to buy it online, then I'd just buy Timothy's Italian Blend from eBay and be done with it. So that's what Bob (my co-worker) and I have been doing for over a year now. We order it from Canada and split the order. Plus, I'd go to Bed Bath & Beyond to get some Barista Prima Columbia k-cups for us from time to time, using my BB&B coupons.

Now that this store opened, though, I think we're going to stop our eBay coffee k-cup orders. We can buy it from this store, no tax, no shipping, and it's cheaper than even eBay.

(You thought I was talking about men; one of the ladies at work asked me if I was talking about "that green leafy stuff" when I started telling my co-worker about the Columbia k-cups!

It took me a minute to figure out some of the stuff in Winchester's original post but I'm afraid after I read this and then looked again I had a real good laugh to my self. And after the Timothy fix e bay thoughts the 'and it will be interesting to see what all Rick picks up tomorrow'  bit took on a whole new meaning.
  Sorry!

Don't worry -- I completely understood the first time I read it.Although I don't have a Keurig, and haven't found any k-cups I like for the Keurig machine at work, I would LOVE to have a better food store in town. We had one the year I arrived, but it went out of business because people around here don't like "all that fancy food." Someday, I'll move somewhere that has better food stores!

I actually had that on my list, but deleted it...

Funniest thread in a while!!  I was with ya from the beginning Pam!

So what did Rick walk out with?

My Mom and I love browsing the foodie stores at the outlets.  More for the gadgets than the food stuff; though sometimes we'll get a little something too!

Let me see.....surprisingly he didn't get that much.

For me....

Diedrich - Rio Blend k-cup to sample

Tully's - Hawaiian Blend k-cup to sample

Brown & Gold - 100% Peruvian k-cup to sample (I'm drinking it now and it's delicious)

Marley - Get Up Stand Up Organic k-cup to sample

For dear Richard (he's more into flavored coffees that he can use for iced coffee)....

Green Mtn Caramel Vanilla Cream k-cup to sample

Donut House Cinnamon Roll k-cup to sample

Celestial Seasoning Sweet Peach Black Tea k-cup to sample

A package of Brownie Brittle in salted caramel (good stuff!)

A package of espresso beans in dark chocolate (decadent)

A bottle of Charred Pineapple Bourbon Sauce (we'll be using that on Labor Day slathered on a pork tenderloin)

They also have some drink mixes (the margarita mix was calling to me, but I didn't buy it.....yet), some interesting salts and sugars, some hot sauces (Pants on Fire!!
), hot chocolate mixes that I may try this winter, and a host of other stuff. Some coffee equipment, fresh coffee beans, vanilla beans (I buy from eBay, so wasn't really interested in them), packaged biscotti and brownies, and some dip mixes and the like.

I think the store should be able to stay in business. We're in a university town, so between the students and their parents, the store should manage to stay afloat. I hope so. We have a good variety of eclectic stores in town and that's largely because of the university.

I've had all of the samples I bought on Saturday and they're all really good, so that's four new coffees to add to my list. The Marley's is really delicious....drinking that this morning.
