Hi I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place so forgive me :)

My cat has been pregnant for a while now close to 2 months, I let her go outside to walk around she always comes back yesterday I did the same but today when she came in I realized that her stomach had shrunk noticeably. So I assumed perhaps she had given birth so I let her out to show me where they were but instead she just dug a hole and sat there. So I went to look in my shed and found that she had dug around 7 holes. I looked everywhere and I can not find her kittens so now I'm thinking perhaps she hasn't given birth but she is about to?

Can anyone clarify for me?

It's possible she's given birth or is about to. Only a vet can tell you at this point. It is generally recommended to keep a pregnant cat inside only because of this possibility.

Agree with Vball.  Best you take her to a vet for a quick check up.

And as he said, this is the main reason to have the high pregs inside.  Another reason is they are practically defenceless if some loose dog goes after them. Or mean boys.

Shrunking tummy MAY be the kittens have gone into birthing postitions. In this situation the kittens dont move so much. You must be qood at palpation to feel them.  And you feel them further down compared with before.

So, keep her inside and watch if she gives birth.

Patrull outside and search out every hidey place - IF the kittens are there.  As it is not cold as yet, they can survive with some luck. We had examples on this forum they survived alone almost 2 days before they were found.

It may also have been some false pregnancy.

If you want to shorten your uncertainity - let a vet look at her asap.

Good luck!

I can't take her to the vet because I live in the Middle East and the nearest vet is 3 hours away and that is too dangroues. I did realize just a few hours ago that her stomach at the bottom is a little big is this the birthing postion?

I suppose so.  With a small litter it could  look so.

Lets hope  for  the  best.

Good luck!
