Lazlo's ultrasound results are back. There was a small "something" in Lazlo's stomach, down near the duodenum. It does not appear to be an ulcer, but it doesn't look typical of cancerous growth.

Result: take him back in two weeks for another ultrasound.

It is possible it is just something that hasn't passed his stomach: but nothing shows on x-ray, which is not consistent with food.

If it's still there... likely have to do endoscopic biopsy, it's too small for needle biopsy.

But if his cancer is back... are we going to treat with chemo again? :dk:

We hold off on all speculation until the follow-up ultrasound is what we do.

Oh - have to go post to Dan32's thread. Elspar is not part of ANY chemo protocol any longer. It is no longer on the market.

Hopefully it was just some kind of random anomaly and the next ultrasound will be fine.

Laz (and you :) will get through this, regardless. You have carried him through life with your love, and this is no different.

I know whatever is found, you will do right by him, despite how difficult it might be, for the best for Laz.

So much positive vibes sent your way.

I know you aren't speculating, but maybe it's a hairball on it's way down and out?  That wouldn't show up on an xray, would it?  Here's hoping that's all it is

Gosh, they worry us so

That's what I was thinking - a hairball, or the beginning of one.

Meanwhile - the medical wait and see is one of the most stressful things we have to endure.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to see this! You and Lazlo have all my vibes and prayers that it is just something as simple as a hairball.  You and Lazlo have been a tremendous inspiration to me and I so badly don't want anything bad to happen to the little guy

:hugs: to all. He's happy to be home, though high as a kite. :lol3: Thanks for the support, and for the positive thoughts for Laz. :heart2:

It's just been so long since we went through it all, I was hoping he was indestructible. :lol3: Who knows? It may turn out that he is. ;)

PLASTIC!

Lazlo has a plastic PICA - he nibbles on plastic when he's hungry and I don't give him treats. Obviously we try to keep any plastic out of reach of kitty mouths. Well, I went to add litter to the box this morning - and a little bit of the plastic label on the box was gone. That was a first - I didn't even know he had the dexterity to get at that plastic wrap on the box.

It would be small, thin, odd-shaped, and create a shadow. It would likely be something the vet has never seen on an ultrasound before. Not that he hasn't seen plastic - but if there were plastic in a kitty's tummy, it would be lots of it, because the cat would be there due to vomiting or something, and they'd be looking for a potential blockage. Not a few little nibbles that just hadn't left the tummy yet.

We'll see in two weeks. :)

My goodness what these kitties can get into. I am going to think that the "small something" IS a piece of plastic from the litter box and that it will pass through as easy as it went down. I mean that with a side note of comic relief. Let's hope so. :cross: :cross: :cross: ;) ;) No matter what, sweetie, Lazlo will do whatever it takes to be "indestructible" for you as long as he can. FOR SURE!!! They do try to hard and with you and Gary leading the way, it will all be GREAT! :cross: :vibes: :cross: :hugs: :sun:
