Has anyone used this on their cats? Its supposed to kill fleas, treat hookworms, and kill ear mites. It looks pretty strong though I was just wondering if it is safe? Not only my pet cats but also for my strays which coukd be helped very much by it. Also if you get a few drops on your fingers and wash them off quickly is a person ok?

Advantage, Frontline and Revolution are the only safe medical flea treatments out there and other OTC meds like hartz are really dangerous. That being said there are dangers with using these products regularly and I really do not advise using them every month and certainly not to use them on indoor cats unless they contract fleas. Here is some more information on some of the risks associated with spot on treatments and some safety tips for their use (http://healthypets.mercola.com/site.../03/31/dangers-of-flea-and-tick-problems.aspx)

I only gave them half the tube to be safe and mainly because my indoor cats do sometimes get outside and with the strays fleas are inevitable my indoor cats have fleas, and one ate a bird which now could have given intestinal parasites so I felt using the all in one once is a help. All the cats are healthy and proper weight no illness. Normally I just use regular frontline for fleas, and I do it once every 2-3 months or unless one of cats starts scratching making bald spots. None of them licked the area I put it exactly where they can't lick it so hopefully that further reduces any chance of negative symptoms.

As of this posting I have used Advantage II on 12 cats of varying weights and ages, both indoors and out, for three months and have been very pleased with it's effectiveness. Oh how I wish topical flea treatments, or flea treatments of any kind weren't necessary! They are chemicals, so of course have inherent risks. You are right, Bugmankeith, it is inevitable that if you deal with strays you will bring the fleas and/or flea eggs in with you. Unfortunately, in my world, especially these past 2 years, fleas have been a constant battle. I take care of ferals, strays and pets that stay indoors and have had to treat all that would allow me to, using whatever method they will allow.

I'm using Advantage II on 7 cats and it's working for them.  Three of them are indoor/outdoor and they have contact with the indoor cats so I feel I need to use it on the strictly indoor cats, too.  I use it on the in/out kitties every month; on the indoor only cats probably every other month.

PS--sorry, I just noticed you are asking about Advantage Multi.  I haven't tried that one.

Hi

Yes i use Advantage on my cats and dogs the only thing is it doesn't kill worms so i use drontal for worming. If you cay already has fleas you might not notice that they have been killed in the first month but you will note there wont be anymore fleas, living on your cat uninvited! I get the Advantage 80 which is for bigger cats but i use it on all sizes and if you buy it from Vetuk i think you will find its the cheapest place for it. Good luck!
