WARNING!!!!!!!!

OK. This post my show my weirdness. Last night before I was falling asleep I had the funniest thought. At least I thought it was funny.

My friend (the one I was talking about her got her male cat fixed yesterday) had her kitty litter container sitting out. I was looking at the picture of this orange fully cat. It was cute and everything but I couldn't help but feel sorry for it.

Here is the reason why.

So you're the kitty on the Cat Chow box, or the Whiskers can, or Tidy Scoop litter. You're a famous kitty. You picture is in all the stores...you're like the Cindy Crawford of kitties.

Then you look at the no name brand kitties. The one posing for the cheapest, crapiest litter. Just weeks before that kitty was posing for "kitty" porn. Its a step up...but at what cost?

Are the Cat Chow cats and Whiskers cats laughing at the no name brand kitty?

And how do they pick what cat will go on the box of cat food or bag of litter?

Do they all sit in this big board room looking a slids of different cats.

"...no that one is too stripded" "....too fluffy" ".....too fat"

"DON"T WE HAVE SOME DECENT CATS OUT THERE??!!??"

"WAIT! Hold everything....who is that cat! She is perfect for the no name brand cat food!"

i never really thought about it, but now that you mentioned it, how do they choose those cats, and are they really live cats or just made up
but i think that the no name kitties are just as special as the name brand ones, all cats are special

I think it is an honor for a kitty to model anything. My cats all do modeling for me.

The beautiful red tabby named Clydie that was the Science Diet kitty for years, got too old and ill to work any more, so they were looking for a new red tabby. I was living a in KC at the time, and a friend that worked with a rescue organization mentioned to the animal handler that I had a big, beautiful tabby boy. Leo was a gorgeous red tabby with gold eyes, and he was huge. The lady for the ad agency came to look at him, and went nuts! She had been looking for a new cat for 2 years, and she said her "Star Search" was over, Leo was perfect, exactly what she wanted. He was normally a very sweet tempered boy that just wanted to be cuddled, but that day he was so bad! The lady looked at me like I abused him or something. He cried, and bit, and howled like I was going to skin him. Needless to say, he blew his audition, and his chance at fame.

I'd say obviously he wanted to keep the simple life.

KrazyKat2, that is too bad!!! Its terrible to know you came *this* close to fame and fortune, only to have it bungled by a kitty with stage fright! well, it probably happened for the best. (right?)

I know that Morris the cat (all of them in fact) was rescued from a shelter. But I think that ad people know what they are looking for when choosing feline supermodels. I would personally pick any kitty i can find!
