my kittens are from a rescue centre and are 4 months old , they have been sneezing and one of them sneezed and it went right in my eye and on my mouth, can I catch this virus from my kittens , also they haven't had their vaccinations yet they are getting them when they are better .

I'm quite concerned now I don't want to be sick :(

Hi and welcome to TCS!

Cats from shelters often have colds or the feline herpes virus, both of which would be difficult for you to contract. The best course of treatment is a healthy diet (see www.catinfo.org for information on proper nutrition) and l-lysine. Here is a recent thread on another shelter cat with a cold and I think you will find a lot of useful information (http://www.thecatsite.com/t/262945/dark-brown-eye-crust-in-corners-of-eyes).

Here is a very good article on feline herpes virus (http://healthypets.mercola.com/site...12/03/07/feline-herpes-virus-in-pet-cats.aspx)  and upper respiratory infections (http://healthypets.mercola.com/site...omes-of-respiratory-diseases-in-pet-cats.aspx)

Here is a video on URIs:
