My cat is about two and a half. She started labor five and a half hrs ago, hard labor four ago. I have no car and it is pouring rain. This cat was given to me and I love her but could not afford a vet and was promised financial help with her that never came. I love her and don't know if I should be worried. Occasional discharge that doesn't smell bad. She's been resting between contractions and seems to be doing ok if uncomfortable at the peak. Contractions still about two min apart

Lets hope for the best! 4-5 hours isnt extremely long, even if cats tend to have shorter labors than humans.  The very short periods are inbetween the kittens, when the first is already delivered.

For the first the labor may be longer.

Yet, it is no ideal situation...

You can perhaps phone at least a vet and get telephone advice??

If she is almost done, but seems to lose forces, smear some  wet dextrose (glucose sugar) or honey or white caro syrup.

You can also have some of these sugar sources, and a little kitchen salt, in her water. Its a sort of basic pedialyte.

The recipe for pedialyte is

1,5 soup spoon (15g) dextrose or honey or white caro syrup

1 tea spoon (3g) kitchen salt - preferably the so called minerale, but common kitchen salt OK

1 litre water,

stir up by boiling, cool down, use...

Here you can have a little more of the dextrose/honey in....

You can perhaps find someone else who has experience with deliveries??

Cat or dog person??

If in need, you CAN approach person whom you normally doesnt know well, its no shame in it.

And they are supposed to help if they can.

Or raise money to lend....

Anyway, be there near your cat.  Assuring her of your presence, being ready to help if and when necessary. This may come, more than one forumite saved the day by quick and resolute handling.

Good luck!
