My one year old cat just fell from the window sill. It's about a five foot drop. He's fine but he's never done it before. Should I be worried?

A five drop is nothing for most cats, but you should gently check him for injuries. If he is not limping or showing any other signs of pain or injury and is still eating, eliminating and playing normally, he's probably just fine. I would just keep a careful eye on him for the next few days.

If he's not limping or in pain, I wouldn't worry about it.  If he shows signs of not feeling well or he falls off repeatedly, then that's cause for concern.

Agree with other posts. If no limping and seems fine I wouldn't worry.  Also as long as he didn't hit himself on anything hard / sharp on the way down that might have injured him and you've checked no bleeding.  As long as he doesn't keep misjudging distances or heights, and doesn't fall over I wouldn't worry either.

Young cats will fall of things when they're first exploring their environment and maybe get foxed by a surface being more slippy than they expected or a ledge not as deep as they thought but again that's pretty normal. You just need to check they're OK and not hit themselves on anything on the way down, pulled anything harmful down on top of themselves, or landed badly.  They also fall off stuff when they're sleeping, but I think they all do that.

My boy's forever falling off things - not because he misjudges distance but because he's never learned to use his claws. Paw pads just don't give the same grip.
