One of my cats gets ulcers on his tongue from feline herpes virus. One time he had one so bad, he was drooling profusely and would not eat. He got an anti-inflammatory, pain patch, and double daily dose of l-lysine for two weeks. Is it possible that both of your cats are suffering from a feline herpes virus flare?

I don't understand the clotting thing, though. I found this information from a Cornell web page about DIC (https://ahdc.vet.cornell.edu/clinpath/modules/coags/dic.htm):
Disseminated intravascular coagulation is always a secondary hemostatic disorder, that is initiated by an underlying disease. Many conditions, including sepsis, heat stroke, intravascular hemolysis, burns, shock, pancreatitis, neoplasia, or trauma can initiate DIC.

It seems the vet needs to figure out what's causing the DIC, while temporarily treating the symptoms. IMO, I think your cat needs hospitalization with IV fluids.
