We took in a stray who was lovey dovey at first now doesn't want to be touched much. She has eaten a tone. Took her to vet two weeks ago and vet said either she has had a litter or is pregnant. He did not feel any kitten balls at that time.

She eats anything u will pit in front of her. Do u thimk she is just getting fat or that she is pregnant?

I think she's pregnant.  maybe around 6 weeks?  ( That's just a wild guess .      in the first photo looks like a pinked up nipple.    and if  she was not pregnant but had recently had a litter she nursed she'd probably be thin.  not with a big belly. .

If she was from 2.5 wks to almost 4 wks,  the vet would likely have been able to feel through palaption.  ( not always though)

If she was in the last couple weeks he probably could also have felt then.   but there is a time in the middle when it's very difficult to feel.

and  they often don't start showing until after 5 wks at least.       So my guess is 5 to 7 wks . but i could certainly be wrong

Sounds good. I will keep u posted. The other thing is on her eating, today she got a piece of zucchini bread off the counter wrapped in plastic wrap. I can't find the plastic, do u think she ate it?

 Yikes  let's  hope not!

Or if she did,  let's hope she chewed it up into small pieces and they all will just  slide through her intestines with no problems.

If she were very hungry she might do that.    & some cats do have an odd thing about chewing plastic.    In case that is true of this cat,   I would try to avoid leaving plastic wrap, plastic bags etc.  sitting out

She definately ate the plastic wrap. It passed through her. Can't believe she did that and hopefully it all passes through. The last few days she just lays there and sleeps a tin but yelps for food and sits by her dish like every two hours. Can she really be this hungry.

Did I mention how moody she is? One moment she is curled up in my lap then hse gets off and doesn't want to be touched so bad she will nite or swat if u try. She is turning crazy!

She may have a big litter making her so hungry.   She may be eating for 8.   ( or 9!   there is another cat on here who had 8 kittens a few days ago )

Yeah I guess her hormones are making her moody!     Some cats get more affectionate,  some get more  independent   and some go back and forth.    I think they often get generally affectionate but with moments of being touchy.  and  some queens get more protective of their pregnant bellies.    Just go with whatever she seems to want and try your best to " read"  her body language.  like if  you are petting her and she  flicks her ears back,  tenses her muscles etc.  -- then stop before she swats!

She was prego. She had her beauties on labor day! How funny that she labored on labor day! 4 babies but sadly one died at birth and was deformed. A very large body aand little tiny arms. Sad my cat had to birth this huge kitty!

Congratulations on the birth of Cloey's kittens. I am sorry one of them was born deformed and died. You might want to post a tribute to that baby in our Crossing the Bridge Forum. Please keep us updated on the remaining kittens. How are they doing now and how is the mother.

Mom is not so great. She either has a kitty still in her or an infection. On our way to the vet.

Hope Cloey will be all right.   Good thing you are getting her right to the vet.

Do you have some  kitten formula in case you need to bottle feed  as she recovers.    ?  The kittens will still need to be fed about every 2 or 3 hours day and night. and stimulated to urinate & defecate if the mom is not doing it.    and if she needs to stay they will need some source of warmth since they can't control their body temp.

Really good. Cloey seems like she changed personalities. She was super cuddly and lovey dovey before she had the babies and now won't even come on our lap. The babies are great. The gray is lagging in weight and it started out the biggest. We might give it some suppliment.

Still can't believe the vet didn't think she was pregnant and tecommended an immediate spay
She was 7 weeks along at that point. Glad I waited!

So we have a problem. The gray that started out larger than the others and gained quicmer now has a hard time eating he only likes one place and lately has a hard time finding and then latching. He has not been getting much. He hasn't gained weight for 3 days now. He is 10 oz while one is 13 and one is 14 oz. We bought formula to help suppliment him and he won't take it. The mom won't stay with them to eat very frequently even with force and lately when he does get food from her he quickly falls asleep while the others still eat. What can we do for yhe guy? He screams at the bottle.
