I have a 1 1/2 year old male and a 6 month old female kitten and both of them have fleas and worms. Today alone I've seen A LOT of worms coming out of his butt, and I feel horrible about it but I can't take them to the vet until Monday at least.

My question is do over the counter dewormers work? Is it worth my money to buy one and use it on them until I can get them to the vet? Also, I used Frontline about 3 weeks ago and didn't really notice an improvement on their fleas. Is it safe to give them another dose if it hasn't been a full 30 days inbetween?  I have a feeling I didn't put the Frontline enough on the skin so it didn't absorb all the way, and I know the male likes to try and lick it off if he can. I already have two doses available and they both seem irritated by the fleas, so I'd like to re-dose them properly if it's safe.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust any otc dewormers.  Call the vet and ask for Revolution and a tapeworm dewormer.  Explain the situation and see if they'll give you the med if you make an appt for Monday.
