Spots around 1 ear's edge

Hi, my 2 year old tortoiseshell seems to have spots around one of her ears. This was addressed at her last checkup, almost a year ago, which she is due for again next month. I think it was said to have been "mites", though it seems like the splotches have gotten larger... possibly since the cat just spent a week with her other feline friend this month. Just wanted to check in here and get some information before the cat sees the vet again. I'm going to link a few photos via flickr- note that they are slightly visible through the back of her ear as well.

My tortie has those pigment spots in her ears, too.  My vet told me it was normal.  I didn't see anything unusual or out of the ordinary in your pictures.
