If you are interested in taking over the Tuesday question of the day, please send me a PM. :)

What is one piece of advice that you were given that you've never forgotten?

Mine is a bit random. :lol3: When I was learning how to drive my father always told to be more careful driving in the rain if it hadn't rained in a while. He said the roads would be even more slippery because oil, etc dripping from cars wouldn't have been washed away for a while.

My grandmother always told us "The best lessons you ever learn are those you learn the hard way because you never forget them." Rest in peace, Grandma. :rbheart:

Just because they are your parents, doesn't make them right or have all the answers. They can be wrong. They are only human. Humans make mistakes.Your Mother is no better than some bully at recess. You wouldn't let one hurt someone else, don't let her hurt you either.Yet forgive.

I have 3 but they say sort of the same thing.

Bloom where you are planted.

We have zero control over what other people do and say, but we have 100% control over how we respond.

If you can't change the situation, change your attitude!

Hey, neato, is that a Final Fantasy Advent Children (Yazoo) avatar?

Anyhoo:

"Pick a man with a good disposition. Because even if changes happen, like wealth, stuff, jobs, losses, home, children, aging, a good disposition always remains" - My great aunt

"The greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising everytime we fall" - Confucious. Always kept this one in mind.

I remember a friend telling me sometime ago, that I should do what I want to do, instead of always doing what everyone else wants me to do.  It sort of goes along with "You wouldn't worry so much about what people thought of you if you knew how little they do" also,  which I believe it was from Dr. Phil.

From one of my University History Professors a couple years ago...he explained that it is important not to treat the people of the past like idiots or that they were wrong, but to understand that they had to survive, learn and cope with what they had at the time.

There are plenty more (Especially from my mom! always plenty of wonderful advice from her. And my amazing late grandpapa) but that would just lead to a whole big post.

Though I will mention one honourable mention from my dad...

"If you see a guy with a large fancy truck or overlly fancy car and they strut with it, it means they feel they have small d*** and are overcompensating. That is not a real man" And it is true...I don't like macho guys or guys who who aren't comfortable in their masculinity, and compensate by big truck, hanging toy balls, fake balls for their dogs, complain and whine if they have to wear pink or clean, make a big deal about wanting a son (that is identical to them especially) do so-called super manly things etc etc. It's a turn off.

Gosh, I listed so so so many, terribly sorry - I will behave better next time for the next Q
 Promise!
