It is dark stuff, it seems to have flare ups and he itches and shakes head alot. I try to clean his ears regularly with a otc cat ear wash. It reminds me almost of scabs, but more flake like. Not what I would call grinds. It seems to accompany a thin buildup too. Not super hard to remove, but not easy. In one ear also. He has gotten to almost like the cleaning. Weary of vet, the travel there is so terrifying to him, you swear he is going to die of a heart attack. I have never seen any cat, or any animal freak out as bad as him. Maybe a mobile vet if this cant be treated at home by me.
