Hello! I am happy to find this community. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada with my husband and my two fur babies. I have a 9.5 year old Flame-point Siamese who is the best cat I've ever had. I also have a very new edition - a 7 week old black DSH kitten. He is sometimes very sweet and sometimes a brat!.
I grew up with all kinds of animals: dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, rats, mice, fish, and once even a snake! My parents were kind of crazy for letting us have all those pets, lol.
Serge, my Siamese, has been my only pet for the last 9.5 years. He is a fantastic companion cat. He comes when he's called and is just a joy to be with. He moved around with me throughout my tumultuous 20's, lots of different apartments, roommates, etc., and did just fine. I always thought of adding another pet, but not until I had a home of my own.
A few months ago, my husband and I were able to buy our first house. Yay! Now with the space, I felt that Serge might be a little lonely and I wanted another pet. That's when I started looking for a kitten. I would have loved to rescue an adult cat from the shelter, but I knew that with my cat's personality and the fact that he's always been an only pet, I knew that he would have the best chance of getting along with a kitten. So far he and the baby are getting along, but they aren't best friends yet, lol. Anyway, I hope to become an active member of this community. Thanks for having me.
