Hello,

I am new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself.  I am the proud mom to a 2 1/2 year old female tabby named Posie.  She is such a joy and I feel blessed to have her in my life.  I adopted her from a rescue group when she was 4 months old, and have been trying to learn how to make the best decisions for her care by researching everything I can about cats online.

I lost my 9 year old orange and white tabby girl Chirp 4 years ago to immune mediated hemolytic anemia (I feel it was brought on and/or with possible unknown underlying health conditions exacerbated by a FVRCP vaccination she received).  With her being an indoor cat and an only pet, I do not believe she needed this vaccine, but at the time I did not realize this and thought I was doing the best thing for her. She struggled with this disease for about 2 1/2 years before the medications stopped working, and I had to make the hardest decision I have ever had to make.  It nearly killed me to say goodbye to her, as she was my constant companion, but I could no longer bear to see her suffer.  I have tried to learn from this horrible experience and do everything that I can to avoid the same situation in the future.

This site is wonderful, and I am looking forward to learning and sharing information with all the other experienced cat owners here!

Thanks ChristineMarie!  I am happy to be here!  I do have a couple of pics of Posie; I can't get her to sit still long enough for me to take too many pics of her!
I will try to post them as soon as I get the chance.

I'm sorry about Chirp, it's an awful thing to lose a beloved friend like that.  Looking forward to seeing pics of Posie.

Oh, posiesmom, I'm so sorry about Chirp. I'm new to the forum too, although I've had cats for a while, I've lost some very good furry friends, mainly to cancer. Looking forward to seeing your pictures of Posie - even if they are a bit blurry :)

Thank you cattleyas2.  Welcome to the forum as well!  Yes, it is very difficult losing our furbabies!  I'm sorry to hear of your losses also.
