HISTORY:
I have the new baby in the bathroom for a period of seclusion which was meant to last 3-4 weeks to let them adjust to each other, and give me time to fully vet the little guy. Yesterday I took him in and dewormed him and put him on Revolution. The vet told me about the FIV test and we decided to do it on the next app in ten days. He couldn't be vaccinated because he's too thin and has roundworms, earmites and fleas.
Matt is also on Revolution and is also a former stray, and was not tested when he was brought in by the shelter. He was instead vaccinated.
INCIDENT:
So I came home from the vet, and let the little guy out of his carrier in the bathroom. But the door wasn't locked(my bad)Matt came in, sniffed him, ate some of his food, groomed Midnight's ear a little. hissed when the little guy squeaked, and left.
I'm not terribly concerned about FIV with Matt also being a former stray and therefore already exposed during his own street life. But will this damage their intro, or we doing well? Should I let him initiate meetings if he's ready?
The kitten comes in from my own back yard, so he's already used to it's scent all over us as we've been feeding it for weeks and touching it for almost 2 weeks now. It's been at the back door talking to him for about a week with no hostility between them.
