My cat went out last night and we found him injured in morning, he was alive and he drank alot of water.

i took him to vet and he gave him 3 injections and asked me to massage his back as his spine is broken and his nerves are damaged. his lower body is paralysed and I wish its temporary.. anyways here we don't have expert vets and the just don't know what exactly to do. I am in Pakistan right now.

I massaged his back and tied a cardboard so that his back can stay straight but still i am not sure because the vertebrae near his tail bones are not aligned i mean his spine is not straight. I have asked for homeopathic help but they say that before starting the treatment His bones must be in place.

I really don't know what to do and i just cry when he makes any sound.

He tried to move as he was very playful so he might get depressed too.

his forelimbs are fine and head is also fine he ate a little now but while eating he tried hard to move.

this disturbs the cardboard thing under his spine and i am worried worried and worried..

please help.

another important thing, he is not peeing and pooping, i made him pee by expressing him, i watched on internet and i am not expert at all but it worked and he peed.. can anyone please explain how often he should pee and what should he eat and also how often he should poop. i don't know how to make him poop.

i don't want him to suffer anymore pain.

Please help.

I am very sorry this happened. I am not sure if massage at this point is a good idea as he seems to have a severe spinal cord injury. It is best to keep it immobilized for now. Here is an article from this site on bone injuries in cats (http://www.thecatsite.com/a/bone-fractures-in-cats).

From what I have read it appears surgery is often used in these kind of cases. You may want to find if there is a vet more experienced in treating these types of injuries. Not sure if this is help but here is a NGO who works with vets and animals  in Pakistan and they may be able to help you (http://vetscare.org)

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thank you for your reply.
