My foster kitten, about 4 months, has runny poo. At first it was REALLY runny. Then it got more formed but very soft. Now it is kind of formed and then turns I to runny. Tested negative twice for worms/parasites. I was giving him some friskies canned along with dry out all day. Yesterday I noticed he was lazy and his behavior changed slightly which prompted me to get the poo tested again. I decided last night to give him (and the other fosters) a can of weruva chicken because it has or seems to have more moisture and I didn't want him to get dehydrated. His behavior has been much better since giving him the weruva (I've given it to them a few times now) but his poo is still runny.

Any suggestions? Think I should give them pumpkin? If it continues to be runny through the weekend I'm going to get another checkup but his behavior is more normal and playful now. Phew

Has he been tested for tritrichomonas foetus?  It doesn't show up in a regular fecal and requires a special test.  I would talk to the vet about a food such as Royal Canin's Gastrointestinal HE because something is upsetting his system.

I will ask the vet about these things. I'm hoping he magically has a solid poop today :-)

I had 2 foster kittens approx 6 weeks old who had terribly runny poops. It came out liquid, explosive and laced with blood. The vet prescribed a course of antibiotics and cooked chicken, and they came good. Cooked chicken! It is the goods!

I was just doing some research on feline IBD and saw this great video discussing how many kittens have coccidia and giardia which are not treated by general worming and she suggests doing three fecal samples to rule these parasites out. I know you tested twice but you might want to consider checking one more time.

Here is the video:

Well, now both the black kitties have runny poo. Well, the last quarter of the poo is runny. The first3/4 is soft but formed. My third foster from a separate litter has good poop. I will call the vet today. She will want me to bring them in. I will also bring another poo sample.
