Time for a formal introduction of myself in this awesome cat site!
A little bit about my animals: I'm currently mommy to 1 year old Jasper, who's a male ginger tabby. Jasper was rescued from my ex boyfriend's yard last year, during a hot summer, when a small meowing silly thing showed up at my feet and clearly had no idea how to eat. He was skinny and as the months passed, got very attached to his humans. Jasper is, and I say this with all my love, a bit of an idiot he moves slowly, purrs a lot, stands in one place a lot. If you hold him upside down he'll just stay there and keep purring. He really doesn't mind what you do to him and has become the butt of jokes from all my friends hahahaha first time I put a collar on him, I got it clasped and went to the bathroom. When I came back five minutes later he was still standing in the same position and eyeballed me from the corner of his eyes without turning his head. Kept purring. An adorable, loving idiot
A little bit about myself: I'm 30 years old and I'm a motorsport/automotive journalist from Cyprus. Been involved in animal rescue ever since I can remember. Sadly, Cyprus has a huge stray animal problem so volunteers are spread very thin trying to help as much as we possibly can. Spaying and neutering are not very popular and I hear people saying that "it's a shame for the animal to miss out on sex, I can't desex my animal, I feel sorry for it" - but these same people don't feel sorry for the kittens and puppies they keep dumping in trashcans... anyway.
When Jasper was a kitten, back at my old flat:
Jasper gets on well with my rescue Husky/German Shepherd cross dog, Aria (who was rescued from the middle of nowhere in the mountains two years ago).
Me and my mini zoo:
Aria is my dog. She's a rescue Husky/German Shepherd cross and I rescued from the middle of nowhere in the mountains two years ago. She had been beaten up, starved and abandoned and it took well over a year to get her to act like a happy dog as opposed to a suspicious wolf. I love her to bits. She was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago.
This image describes Jasper perfectly. You just put him in any position and he'll just stay like that for hours, purring. Here he's posing with my friend Rania.
Finally, my cat Nala, who made it on icanhascheezburger! Hehehehe! Nala is (surprise) also a rescue, and she's a 7 year old female tabby. Here's a video of her demanding attention...
