If she likes the baby food you can gradually mix in the canned kitten food. You want to get her eating that soon because it has all the vitamins and minerals cats need.

Good luck with everything

When weighing them, be sure to do it the same time everyday, preferably before a meal. DO weight them daily. If either start losing weight, get them to a vet asap. Wishing you continued luck with them eating and keep us posted.

Tigger is being put to sleep She seemed to be doing better but then she got real sick real fast and the vet put a cathader in her and she seemed to perk up but then she is going back down hill. I only know this because my mother told me because she is taking care of them and i went to college. The vet said tigger has a infection and is a younger then 6 weeks probly more around 4 weeks. I am in tears writing this . Psycho is fine and has a vet appointment for thursday But i dont know how she will do without her sister

I am so sorry about little Tigger.  Kittens so young that have to be hand-raised  often don't make it and it is heartbreaking.

Psycho will need a lot of love,  someone holding her and petting her etc.    and I would put a stuffed animal in with her for her to cuddle with.    If she stays healthy  , maybe after she has had at least her first shots,  your parents might consider adopting another kitten as a buddy for her.   But make sure that kitten is vaccinated and de-wormed  then keep separate for a week or so to make sure the new kitten is healthy.    If they do get a new kitten they should know that kittens absolutely should stay at least 8 weeks with their mom and littermates and a few more weeks is even better.

We know that kittens should be 8 weeks Psycho and Tigger where rescues that mother died and were suppose to be 6 1/2 weeks . I dont know if my parents will get her a kitten friend once she is older Because we lost our cat of 17 years a couple months ago and Tigger having to be put down is really hard especially since Tigger screamed when she was being put to sleep because the vet bumped into the cathader and my mom and dad stayed with tigger to the end. Tigger is going to be put in the back yard. My parents are gonna be watching psycho like hawks. She has vet this thursday

Your family has really been through a lot with losing your old cat and then little Tigger.

I'm sorry Tigger had a bad moment at the end. I'm sure that was very distressing to your mom ,  but it's good she stayed with her so Tigger had someone she knew there.

With orphaned/ abandoned kittens , if there's not a foster cat mom to be found,  we humans just have to do our best . and sadly they don't always make it . At least Tigger did get to experience a lot of love and kindness  in her short life,  thanks to you & your family.

Best wishes to Psycho to grow up strong and healthy!

I am sorry for your family's loss of Tigger. You might cosider posting a tribute in our Crossing the Bridge Forum. In the meantime, we would still like to know how Psycho is progressing.

Psycho has been high energy and constantly meowing She keeps trying to nuzzle and sucking on Lillys neck And I am worried that Psycho is going to hurt lilly Because lilly wont stop psycho and  Lilly and psycho need to be within each other sight or  psycho will start meowing and then lilly will come running. I made a mistake Psycho has a vet appontment on wensday at 9 not thursday. My dad gave psycho a stuff animal and psycho doesnt even pay attention to it. I am thinking about buying her the stuff animal that has a heart beat What do you think? I am going to make Tigger a tribute just trying to get together enough to post one.

do you mean a Snuggle Kitty that has both a heartbeat  and a thing you can put in it that makes it warm?    That might be a good idea. I have heard a lot of single kittens do find that comforting.

Or some really  just want  the warmth  --  like take a sock full of uncooked rice and tie the end ( so the rice doesn't come out)  and heat in the microwave.  not so much it is so hot it would burn her  but enough to keep warm.

Also Psycho should be held and touched and cuddled a lot by her human family too. :)

Is Lily the Italian Greyhound?     I would think even if she is very motherly, she will probably let Psycho know if it's really hurting her.   but keep an eye on Lily's neck or wherever Psycho is trying to nurse and if it looks very sore,   you will have to separate them when you can't watch .

Maybe Psycho is hungry?    Maybe try feeding her more times a day  some more of the soft kitten food?   and you could start leaving some dry kitten food for her to snack on.

Psycho does get cuddles lots and lots Till she decides that she wants to try to run wild on the floor But we wont let her run wild on the floor yet since she is still small.

Yes Lilly is my IG She wont stop Psyco because there have been times where psycho was trying to play with lilly and stuck her hard with her claws and left them in Lilly will just sit there and whimper So we had to get psycho to stop. .

My parents had to put psycho in the cat carrier for 5 mins So they could eat because Psycho decided that She was interested in the sausge my dad had  and the second Psycho meowed Lilly was in front of the cat carrier whining.

Psycho has canned food available to her at all times and she also has hard cat foood that we have softened a bit. She like both kinds of foods

Im going to get some pictures of psycho to post sooon

i can see why you are concerned  since  the sweet Lily doesn't even stop the kitten hurting her.

Are you able to clip Psycho's claws?  that can at least make them less sharp  and less long.    With young kittens you can  do it with nail clippers.

If she hasn't had it done she may be scared and squirm around a lot.... so it may be best to first try it when she has been sleeping and then only clip one or two at a time ,  then give her lots of praise and petting,  maybe a little treat.   then  later you can clip another one or two.....and eventually get through them all .   ( Of course be careful not to cut into the "quick"  -- the part where you can see the pink  -- that's the vein and it would hurt and make her bleed. )

We will look forward to seeing some pictures of Psycho   ( and Psycho with Lily ! )

Ahhhh Physco is gorgeous, she looks like my Bubba, who was the runt of the litter that my Ginny had in April. He's getting lighter in colour as he gets older. I've been following your story since you first posted and was sorry to hear about Tigger.

Oh my gosh ,   just 4 weeks now !   She does look very young in the picture but from that she could be anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.  But with young kittens,  vets can get a pretty good estimate from looking a their teeth.

It's no wonder she still wants to nurse!

The vet said that its ok if psycho tries to nurse lillys neck as long as she doesnt make lilly sore and that lilly allows it since its good that psycho is bonding to another animal.

I relized i had neveer went into the story about how we got tigger and psycho .We resuced psycho and tigger from a pet store that take random kittens and 'adopts'' them out and my mom going to give them hell and try to make it so that that store cant have anything. I mainly wish the people had told use the truth so that tigger had a better chance. The story we had was that psycho and Tigger was 6 1/2 weeks old and that they had recieved the kittens a week before because the mother cat had died a week before they recieved the kittens and they had psycho and tigger in with other kittens three times the size of them. So my mom felt bad for them and since they were basiclly ignored except for when people came in and the only food that had in was a little dry looking canned food and big bowl of dry food. Well we took them home and after that was when i started posting on here

Sorry for all the misspelling
