I am not familiar with Mometmax. As with any drug, there are possible side effects, some quite severe. It's probably best to discuss your concerns with the prescribing vet and maybe ask if there are safer alternatives.

I did a google search and found the drugs.com profile of it (http://www.drugs.com/vet/mometamax-otic-suspension-can.html) and it states that is should not be used in cats under the cautions section. On just answer though the vet does say it is sometimes used in cats (http://www.justanswer.com/cat-health/3vuab-mometamax-used-cats-ear-problems.html). I would call your vet with your concerns about giving a medication not meant for cats and if you feel uncomfortable giving it then ask for another medication.

Call the vet.  There should be some kind of instructions on what to do on the weekend.  Personally, I'd call around and find a different vet that can see you today.  If you're in the US near a PetsMart, many have a Banfield clinic in their stores open on weekends.  As a last resort, you could also find an emergency vet near you and at least call them for help.  Your kitty needs relief sooner rather than later.

unfortunatly I live in a tiny county called searchmont, and we only have 1 vet. I am also in canada :/ no petsmart near me. I have decided that I might aswell use the ear drops, she said that his ear infection was terrible, and id rather use the drops that let him suffer:/

she has been our family vet for 10 years, and nothing has never ever went wrong, I guess I should trust her.

I have done 3 treatments and he is very lively I am very grateful:) most people said that the deafness occured right after the 1st or 2nd treatment.
