Are feather toys dangerous?

My kitten has several feather toys that he chews on, and I have noticed that there are often feathers missing and not on the floor anywhere. Could it cause any major problems if he ingests some of the feathers, or would they just pass through his system? Should I hide his toys when I am not there to supervise him? I don't want him to be bored and find other things to chew on while I am at work.

I personally am very paranoid about my cats swallowing bits of toys because if they cause an obstruction it means a very expensive surgery. If you  notice your cat is eating the plastic feather than I would advise you hiding the toy when you are not around.

have you tried buying different toys you know he cant swallow? so he don't get bored and you can also get a paw breaker its a catnip ball toy

and did you look around for the feather toys? just in case he is hiding them

my cats hids things in the weirdest spots like behind objects like fridge .storage container, cat box. and i even seen my cats put stuff in there at box food bowl and even the water bowl maybe your cats are hiding them behind the couch chair etc like that

and are you sure he is eating them? do you see any feathers parts in is stool?

I haven't seen any feather parts in the litter box. He does like to take toys under my bed and play on top of the storage containers, so they could be there-I'm not sure. He has many, many other toys but he just really likes the feathers. He has a favorite furry mouse that he loves also and carries around, but he has worn it out and started pulling the stuffing out--another hazard. I really don't want to hide his toys when I'm gone, but he is very destructive with them.

have you tried replacing the mouse by buying a new one? and you can make a food roller that might keep him busy

example on how to make a food roller toy take one plastic jar cut small enough holes were the fav kibble or treat can come out by a few peaces and make sure to only add enough kibble or treat were he cant gain weight from it if he suffers from obisty etc put the jars like back on make sure its a screw lid less likely to figure out how to open it ad set it on the floor and show him how it works the kibble or treat he will consume will get burned off by trying to get it out :)
