I have too many funny cat stories, but the best one of all has to be when we had picked up my husband's Coyote he had mounted with the body as a rug/wall hanging with the full head attached.  Fritos noticed it right away and took off hiding, but Coconut (who may not be my brightest cat..lol) just sat there grooming.  Well I walked over and had the Coyote's head right in front of Coconut before he finally looked up and when he did the look on his face was priceless (an "Oh Sh**!!!" look if I ever saw one) he took off ran into the wall, then over one of the kids, ran into the TV and finally out of the room.  I know it was kind of mean, but OMG, if I had caught it on tape we could have won AFV.....lol.  It took a few days after we hung the coyote on the wall before the cats would even enter that room, but now they could care less.

Don't know if people are missing this because of the error in title or that you answered it yourself so maybe not so visible?

Funniest thing Mouse did was when he was little and still with his mum - and he does quite a lot of silly things.

He was running about and playing on his usual double bed playground, all
and went for a major pounce at 'something'  Totally forgot the bed was high up and had edges he could fall off. I was sitting on the far edge of the bed - all I saw was this little kitten 4 paw pounce

almost vertically
2 feat
into the air then dead-drop past the edge of the bed....
My heart was in my mouth but then I knew he was OK because the  2 people I was with could see him and were killing themselves laughing (and then I joined in). So wish I'd caught it on video.  Still laugh just thinking about it.

She doesn't do it anymore, but when Abby was a kitten, about 4 months old or so, she used to take a running leap into my office chair and send it rolling and spinning across the floor until it hit a wall and stopped.  She would look at me and meow with the biggest eyes.  I'd reset the chair to it's proper place, and she would do it again.  She did it pretty much every night for a couple months and then stopped.

She also gets lost in the apartment!  She has a pair of rolled up socks that she adopted when she came to live with me. I wash them periodically, but she always knows where those socks are!   She doesn't play with them, and she doesn't cuddle with them.  However, if they aren't in the same room with her, she will go and get them and carry them in her mouth back to wherever I am, all the time meowing in desperation trying to find me. If I don't call her, she roams around meowing and meowing, calling to me.  When I call her she follows my voice, then drops the socks as soon as she sees me and then comes back to cuddle with me.

It's the funniest thing. She's over 15 years, and she has done this all of her life.  It's like the socks are her announcement call to me.

My 4 month old kitten Rayland was in the room for his first big event with the vacuum.  Well I thought it would get interesting when I turned it on but not so.  My older cat Rocky who is 8 was already under the bed hiding but Rayland didn't budge, he was interested and wanted to know what his momma was up too.  I plugged in the cord, unwound it, and moved the vacuum over to the side of the room I like to start on and when I looked back little Rayland was all fuzzed up and humped up and I hadn't even started it.  I couldn't figure out why.  I stood a couple minutes and watched him, he circled around and around and around the cord he was terribly frightened of the cord and he didn't want to get to close at first.   Just as he got brave enough to put his nose up to the cord to smell it my mom sent a text message (which sounds like a very loud duck) and he jumped about six feet in the air and took off running to hide behind my feet.  When I picked him up the phone did it again and he leaped out of my arms and tore up the carpet to hide under the bed with Rocky.....LOL!!!!!!!!  Rocky looked at him like I told you man you can't trust that thing....O  It was hysterical, I had tears rolling down my face.  A moment I will certainly never forget.

@vadzilla. My whisky sleeps like that too and if he's on my lap will often have his head hanging down. I sometimes have to haul him back before he falls off the lazyboy.

I don't know if I said this before but I have a litter box upstairs and when I empty it out in the toilet,Thunder  hangs over the edge to watch her poop flush down the bowl and then looks at me wondering where it went. ?

Oh my goodness, I'm always bugging my friends about what my cats have been up to.

I'm not sure if I can pick out a moment to be the most funny, but I can share a recent event.

My wonderful boyfriend gives our cats (Havoc the tabby & Light the lynx point siamese) a shower by holding them in the water with him.  He's been holding one in each arm hoping to speed up the process, but I asked him to do them one at a time as it's really hard to soap up two cats when their body is pressed against his on one side.

So we gave Havoc, our orange little rascal, a bath first. He haaaates baths. Go figure, right? Well he starts doing that really sad, loud meow as he's being lathered up. Light hears this and starts running around the house meowing back trying to find him. Once he realizes we have him in the bathroom Light just pased outside of the shower meowing in answer to Havoc as if to be trying to rescue him or console him. Which is weird, because Light is the alpha & Havoc bugs him all the time. It's odd to see such compassion coming from him. If it weren't for the fact that my boyfriend was in the nude showering with Havoc I'd have whipped out my phone and taken a video of the hillariousness.

Light doesn't mind showers. He'll meow maybe once in annoyance if we take too long but he's grown used to them as we have given them to him a few times since he was a kitten. Funny thing is, when it was Light's turn for a bath, Havoc was nowhere to be found. When Light let out that one little meow Havoc didn't even express any concern. He just wanted as far away from that horrible shower as he could be.

Oh, how I love my boys.

Oh! I have one more! This one is definitely up there on my fondest memories of my two curious kitties.

So, cats are afraid of vacuums, yes? Deathly afraid. At least mine are. All you have to do is roll around the vacuum cleaner, without it being plugged in or on, and my cats go running into hiding.

Chris, my boyfriend, got this really bright idea one day to look up the sound of a vacuum on YouTube. My kitties were minding their own business, grooming themselves on our bed without a care in the world. Then, BOOM they're bolting up into the air and off the bed and in circles trying to find this enemy. We kept it on to see if they'd return to the room in confusion, and every few seconds one would run up to the door sideways with his ears down looking for the vacuum then running out with his tail between his legs.

We could not stop laughing. It was painfully hillarious.

Yes, yes, it was a tad bit mean. But hey, these guys won't let me sleep if I don't wake up at their preferred time for breakfast and they try and get away with things they knowwww they shouldn't be doing: so payback was in order! ;)

When Marge was a kitten, we lived in an apartment, and the laundry room was across the street. In bad weather, I'd wash my underwear in the bathroom sink.  One morning, before my bath, I hung the dry bra on the doorknob to remind me to take it back to the bedroom. Marge loved to watch me bathe.  I was shampooing my hair, and turned to see her on her back, inside of the bra cup (apparently, I took a size large kitten cup in my bras!) with the her head through the straps, hanging from the doorknob! She didn't make a sound; she just swiveled her little head toward me, and opened her mouth in a silent HELP!  I never saw her get up there, and still, 9 years later, have no idea how she did it so fast!

Also, around the same time, she gave DH a black eye. He was holding her, and she swatted his eye hard. I have the cutest pic of this dear little kitten, being held by a big, tough Marine/truck driver who was bested by a 10-week old kitten. He really did have a black eye! I just told him to tell the guys at work I gave him the black eye...

She also, around the same time (yes, she was a wild child!) she got herself folded up in a low, clear glass floating candle bowl. I turned to see her squeezed into it, sleeping, with only the tip of her tail hanging over the bowl! MIL said she looked like a big bowl of cat soup!

Oh, and LOKI. I must mention Loki.  He's the nosiest, evil little monster, and I love him dearly. (In fact, he's watching me type this!).  DH used to brew beer.  Basically, you brew it in a large glass jug, a carboy, then siphon it into the bottles in a crate.  The first time he did this, nosy Loki was stretched up standing on the back of DH's chair, looking over his shoulder, utterly spell-bound by the process. He then turned his head sideways to look at DH, as much as to say, "Wow! This is great, Dad!" We used to keep the brewing beer carboys in the dining room. I think one leaked a bit, or got spilled, and guess who was there to try to lap it up, before we stopped him?

Loki also loves to steal DH's clean, rolled-up socks. Dh will turn his back, and Loki grabs them, and runs. He also has a thing for DH's dirty socks and boxer shorts. I once caught him stealing a pair of the shorts from the laundry basket, clutching them to his belly, and rolling on the floor in delight. It was disturbing. I asked him if him wanted some privacy, and pointed out the bathroom, should he require a cold shower.

So impressed - I can't get over the fact you guys can shower with your cats and not get annihilated!

What a great wake up thread this is.
Loving your cats MargeCat, you've had me LoL over my breakfast. I'll be more careful how I hang my underwear on the radiator now when I'm showering, and might warn my current house guest to take care with his 'laundry' - I don't really want Mouse running around the house with a strange man's used stuff!

Neko steals things :lol3: Just yesterday he grabbed my phone, jumped off the couch with it still in his mouth, and walked down the hall with it. I have a Galaxy S4, so its not a small phone! One time I found his stash under the bed - he was laying in the center of a pile of stolen stuff - jewelry, hair ties, a key, pens, toys, TP roll....

We also get a kick out of it when Nero and the dog play with each other. And every so often, one of the cats will stretch out too much in the window sill (lower than normal sills) and flop off in their sleep.

Mari also used to steal jewelry. She'd grab it In her mouth, turn and look at me, then would dash through the house with it in her mouth, making me chase her!

She did this recently, but with a new twist: she grabbed the small, "leather"-covered metal gift box that had a pair of diamond earrings in it. There I was, chasing her, and freaking out because I could hear the earrings rattling in the box, fearing they'd get damaged. They didn't, but that box does have tooth marks on the top!

I love Neko's "stash" spot!

First day with visitors in safe room, Jessie (4 month old ginger female), swiped at the hard food pellets to knock some onto the floor and batted them around... the funny part was she caught one with her claw and sat up, prairie dog style and ate it. Hysterical.

When its dinner time, I call out dinner..... din-neeeeer. She has chirped back but tonight it sounded more like "urp - mer" same inflection as "din-ner." I repeated, she repeated.... I think she is trying to say "dinner," and it sounded very funny. This bears watching and developing.

When we first got my cat Peanut he was too nervous to go anywhere in the house without a person. (Yes we even had to walk him to his litterbox and wait for him to go.) So he had to sleep with us. He wanted to play though. He would only play if I was awake so he'd sit behind my head on the pillow peaking over at my face and wait for me to open my eyes so he could play. Funny part is I could lay there and talk to my husband, and as long as I kept my eyes closed he never knew I was awake. lol

Also when my son was two Peanut would sit on the top of the chair while my son ran around the chair. Everytime my son passed he'd whack him in the head as many times as he could before my son was past. They both loved that game and would play a couple times a day.
