Hi,

I'm a Brit currently living in the Netherlands and nearly 2 weeks ago I went to a local cat shelter and brought home 2 very shy girls.  Moeka and Savanna have been living under my sideboard for nearly 2 weeks now although Savanna has got braver and has ventured out a few times to have a prowl around my living room.  She has taken to sitting on a chair under the dining room table and can be bribed out with treats!  I had only seen Moeka twice until last night as when she did come out the minute I moved she shot back under the sideboard.  However last night she decided to come and investigate me where I was sat on the sofa and then demanded to have her head scratched!  Unfortunately there has been some building work going on next door today and they have hidden under the sideboard again but I am hopeful of more improvements!

They are sisters.  They were rescued from a house with 15 cats and both had litters of kittens after they were taken in by the shelter.  The shelter was told by the house that they were removed from that they were both very friendly cats but in the shelter they were very shy and have been hiding most of the time they have been with me.  I am starting to wonder if there may have been more to the story as they flinch or run if I even adjust my position on the sofa when they aren't hiding.  They are starting to come out more though which is good.

Awww, pretty girls!  It's encouraging they're starting to come out a bit.
